Zara McDermott shared a video of her bloated stomach and compared it to her “pre-9am abs” in a candid post.
The 26-year-old Love Island star took to Instagram on Saturday to share a “social media vs reality post,” as she told fans “nobody’s body looks the same all day, every day.”
Zara shared that despite having a flat stomach before breakfast, she’s bloated during the day, adding: “I think I look great in both.”
The first clip showed Zara in a bikini that showed off her toned figure, with the TV personality saying a combination of angles, light and time of day was required for the “perfect” photo.
She then compared her “before” clip to one in which she lifted a t-shirt to show her bloated stomach after eating.

Attempting to break the line between the perfect Instagram and reality, Zara wrote, “I’ve been speaking to a lot of people lately and I’ve learned the importance of being completely transparent on social media.
“I think sometimes when you’re constantly posing and trying to get the pictures you post online from the perfect angle (like me) people can think that you actually look like this 24/7.
“And maybe that’s something I haven’t fully processed yet. Being in the social media world myself, when I see a photo of someone else and their body looks “perfect,” I know subliminally how much went into creating that photo because I know how much effort went into it the photos I take!!
“And look, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to take a nice picture of you and picking the best one – we all do it. But it’s also important to emphasize that the perfect angle, the light, the time of day (the first video was of me getting abs before 9 a.m., which I ONLY get if I wake up before I’ve eaten anything) are all components to create a “perfect” photo.
“The rest of the day I look like the second video… full of delicious food, bloated at times (WHICH IS COMPLETELY NORMAL!!) & just as happy with my body in both cases!!
“I think I look great in both, I definitely don’t have abs all the time — and when you see a photo of me with my abs, you just KNOW it’s been a while before you can’t get that shit perfect , hope you’re all having a Fabby weekend”.
Zara has embarked on a fitness journey in recent years and regularly posts updates from the gym.
The star opened up about her workout routine back in April after a follower asked her what her typical weekly workout routine looked like.
In response, the social media personality revealed that she primarily focuses on strength and resistance training.
Giving a brief daily routine, she wrote: “Day 1: hamstrings! RDL variations or I use the barbell, leg curl machine, sometimes I use sliders, walking lunges.
“Day 2: Hip Thrusts! I go to my max and do some variations. I make a lot of sentences. Then probably some reverse lunges with elevation. Also, I do a lot of mobility training on the days I bump.”
She also explained that over the course of her weekly sessions, she enjoyed using different exercises to target her whole body.
“Day 3: Mix of lower and upper body. Conventional deadlifts / sumo deadlifts, and then I also do some pulling moves, such as E.g. bent over rows,” she continued.
Zara continued: “Day 4: another mix of tops and bottoms. Some sort of squat like front squat would probably happen that day. And then recently I tried to do 10 minutes on Stairmaster. Would probably also do some heel lift squats with a dumbbell in hand. And some leg extensions.”
“This is a very random/non-detailed post. But if you want to know more about the kind of programs I’m doing/have been doing over the past year @gw_force is your man as he writes every session for me [heart and laughing emoji].”
“By the way, I don’t always do 4 sessions a week, so day 4 is kind of random lol”.
