xQc is known for its controversial streams, but after rating Hasan a “B” it sparked a feud.
In a stream where xQc, a Twitch streamer from Canada, rated the various big-name streamers across the platform, he has sparked a feud with Hasan Piker, a left-wing political streamer, after weeks of mounting tensions.
Hasan is struggling with key players in the Twitch community who are using the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard lawsuit to monetize the public’s interest in the fiasco as much as possible. xQc, Asmongold and others walked away with thousands of dollars and massive viewership growth while commenting on the event.
After being ranked “B” in xQc’s streamer rankings, Hasan has been firing shots across the bow, with xQc also returning a stab at the streamer as he thinks it’s lame as f***.
Currently, xQc is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. Regularly drawing 100,000 viewers at peak times during the week, it often tops the viewership numbers. He’s also one of the best on the entire site, recently breaking viewership records during his Overwatch 2 beta streams.
Despite being a smaller channel, Hasan has made a name for itself as a political streamer, leaning more to the left than to the internet’s right-wing populist or centrist values. He frequently debates or picks up topics that others might avoid, and uses his left-leaning ethos to entertain his audience.
Recently, however, xQc has come under Hasan’s line of fire due to the ongoing gambling situation. Stake, a cryptocurrency gambling site, has sponsored Canadian and other streamers Trainwreck to play slots on stream.
The company currently has partnerships with Watford FC and UFC as well as rapper Drake. xQc and Trainwreck make millions every month from gambling, and Hasan sees this as the worst way to advertise to a younger, distorted audience.
In a conversation on his Discord, Hasan explained:
“I’m just in no position to be charitable anymore when he regularly berates me in his chat and overall fucks bad for endless moneybags like streaming crypto gambling to thousands.”
Another segment of the conversation goes deeper into his feelings about xQc’s gambling streams:
Fans have been divided over Hasan’s reaction since the drama began, with some from his own Discord server saying in less than polite terms that the conflict was overdone.
In the original xQc stream, he explained that he actually likes Hasan, but due to his lack of variety, he doesn’t seem to be higher than a B-ranked streamer on the platform.
Hasan has little interest in video games and would much rather talk about breaking news and the like.
OTK co-founder Mizkif reacted to the screenshots in another video, shocked at how blunt Hasan was in his Discord and particularly shocked at how over the top things had gotten.
