The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase is finally here, and we’re getting a boatload of gaming announcements. From Redfall to Hollow Knight Silksong, there’s something for everyone. Join us as we stream all the announcements live from the show.
Highlights from the Freedom Games Showcase
redfall
Redfall finally makes its second appearance at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. This time we have a gameplay trailer featuring Layla and her telekinetic abilities and spectral elevators. We also took a comprehensive look at the island where the game will take place.
The trailer also outlined all of the characters’ abilities in Red Fall. Jacob has a Deadeye-like ability from Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as an invisibility cloak and a spectral crow that can fly at enemies. Remi de la Rosa is an engineer with a robotic companion armed with a vampire-slaying machine gun. Next, Devinder offers extensive knowledge of vampires and brings Macgyver gear to ensnare enemies.
Hollow Knight Silksong
Hollow Knight Silksong was announced as a day-one release of Xbox Game Pass at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The trailer showcased more of the game’s frenetic Metrovania-style combat and exploration.
high in life
High on Life is the upcoming first person shooter game from the makers of Rick and Morty. From the trailer, it looks like we can expect a ton of jokes and weird weapons, grenades, and other tools that will also talk to you.
Riot games
Microsoft has announced that Riot Games’ biggest titles will soon be coming to Xbox Game Pass. We’re storing a sizzle-reel trailer of games coming to the service, including League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant, Legends of Runterra, and Teamfight Tactics.
A Plague’s Tale: Requiem
Today we also got a new longer gameplay trailer of A Plague’s Tale: Requiem. From the trailer it appears that the story will take a darker turn as our protagonist, Amicia de Rune, becomes more cruel and aggressive when it comes to killing her enemies.
Forza Motorsport
The next Forza Motorsport finally got a gameplay trailer showing off the new level of realistic graphics that the game will debut. The game has been confirmed to feature ray tracing and more realistic damage to cars when they rub against each other and on the track. The trailer also revealed some new cars, including a race-ready golf cart.
Microsoft flight simulator
Microsoft Flight Simulator celebrates its 40th anniversary with tons of new aircraft including gliders and helicopters.
Additionally, Xbox announced that Halo vehicles are coming to the game today and players will be able to fly the Pelican.
surveillance 2
Overwatch 2 was announced as an October 2022 release at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The new gameplay trailer also gave us a look at all the new looks of the characters. We also met Overwatch’s newest character, the Junker Queen, a gladiator from the Badlands who wields a lever-action shotgun and a large axe. Overwatch 2 Early Access begins October 4, 2022.
Untold Macaw Story
Announced just a few days earlier, Ara History Untold is a turn-based historical strategy game. It will be available on Windows PC with PC Game Pass on day one, although a release date has not yet been announced.
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle
The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion will be released on June 21st.
Fallout 76: The Pitt
A classic Fallout 3 location, The Pitt is coming to Fallout 76 this September.
Hot Wheels DLC for Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Hot Wheels DLC. Similar to the Hot Wheels expansion of Forza Horizon 3 and Hot Wheels Unleashed, this expansion will feature courses with twisting paths, vertical turns, and loop-the-loops, as well as a slew of Hot Wheels toy cars. The Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC is coming this July.
