Denny Hamlin reveals his position on the busy schedule of the NASCAR calendar

In the current Cup Series season, there are a total of 38 races spanning ten months, and Cup Series drivers are showing their driving skills throughout the calendar without any major breaks between weekends. ends, with the exception of Father’s Day weekend. This may not bother the NASCAR public who are just watching the game from the outside, but for many drivers it is inherently grueling.
Even Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin seems to reinforce that fact in his latest spell with Athletic. When asked if the current season’s schedule is busy or not, the No.11 agreed in a breath and claimed: “It’s a lot. I think that’s why as teams our costs are what they are because we race 38 times.
“There are no weeks off, basically; we have about a month of total time that teams can take off, I guess you could say, the grand total. And so that’s a lot, but I never see it going down just because of revenue,” Hamlin added.
Plus, it looks like Hendrick Motorsports prodigy William Byron is on the same page as Hamlin when it comes to the NASCAR schedule. Byron expressed, “I like less, man. At some point I think you get a little oversaturated. It would be nice to have around 31 events a year, but I don’t think that will change anytime soon, so I’m not too worried about that.
However, on the contrary, 23XI Racing’s Denny Hamlin driver Tyler Reddick seems to be on the other side of the table. He is more than happy to disagree with his team leader. Reddick said:I’m crazy, I would like to see more races. I am bored during the week; I prefer to run more and prepare less. We run more, we wouldn’t be able to prepare so much.

What happens when NASCAR goes international?
While adding more races to the current schedule would add more pressure on driver and crew performance, the reduction in races would lead to a reduction in revenue generated by the governing body. Nonetheless, a viable option for NASCAR to generate more revenue and increase the sport’s reach is to cross national borders.
Even Team Penske’s Joey Logano seems to be on board with the idea. He revealed:I think it would be great to go abroad. I would be interested (…)”
Also, it looks like Denny Hamlin might have been okay with it on this occasion but has reservations about the idea. He exclaimed, “I think it would be difficult to do in the middle of the season. NASCAR and the teams will need to have a dialogue about when is the best time, and is it an exhibition or a race for points. But certainly, I think it’s on the horizon for NASCAR’s thoughts on what’s next.
