Meanwhile, Dexter Fletcher said he believed Sherlock Holmes3 quiet “must do” in a new interview with Collider.
The pandemic derailed it. I do think it will be done. I think it has to be done. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the timetable for this is, but I believe it should be. It’s awesome. I think it’s about the right people being in the right place at the right time. I think that’s it. It’s one of those horrible strokes of fate where the pandemic struck, scattering people around the world to the four winds. But I know the appetite for it is huge, and I’m sure there are other people who are aware of it too. But I think it should be because it’s brilliant. I really hope so.

Doctor Who
Grant Morrison outlined their repeatedly thwarted plans for Doctor Who on Substack (via Bleeding Cool) and concluded that they are now simply “waiting for the day that Russell Davies tires the Time Lord” their “ultimate Doctor Who Pitch.”
I think there were two potentially great stories out of the five or so I suggested – one was a “timey-wimey” story that should work as a high-profile Doctor Who feature, and the other was a heartbreakingly emotional Railway Children- Episode that starts World War II – nevertheless, even after trying to refine the first idea a few times, I still didn’t get the grade. Having now worked at all stages of television production, I know exactly what I did wrong in emphasizing certain aspects of the story over those the BBC preferred to have front and center.
One of my stories was about meeting the doctor as a kid, which happened in a very different way in the episode Listen. I had also created some new monsters that they really liked, so the BBC offered to buy my villains, even though they were unwilling to commission scripts from me! As an offer it left a lot to be desired and I would have gotten more Oasis songs as a busker for an hour so I declined and kept the characters in case I ever got another chance.”
A few years ago I became friends with my personal favorite UK author who also did a couple of Doctor Who episodes. After many chats, a whole fantasy season full of Doctor Who adventures ended, which can only be described as revolutionary! We have big, crazy ideas for the Doctor, Companions, Daleks, Season Arc, TARDIS, and everything else that not only fits canon and is blindingly obvious, but has never been done before! So there is something I can only describe as the ultimate Doctor Who pitch ready to materialize and awaiting the day Russell Davies tires of the Time Lord!
