Twitch streamer and celebrity Super Mario 64 speedrunner Squeex recently explained in a live stream how he got a promotion at his first job at an investment bank.
While attempting 70 Star Speed runs on his channel, Squeex spoke about how an accounting error caused the company to lose $100,000.
He went on to mention that a few months later he had a meeting with the company’s upper management and the Twitch broadcaster was convinced he was going to be fired.
However, things took a turn when his superiors revealed they were promoting him and justified their decisions as follows:

Twitch streamer Squeex tells how he “accidentally” got a promotion at his first job at an investment firm
Squeex hosted a six-hour speed running show on August 10 and spent a lot of time interacting and chatting with his fans.
The content creator was looking forward to a weekend and told his fans he was taking a paid time off (PTO).
Fans jokingly stated that they denied the streamers’ PTO, and before long it was broached that he worked at an investment bank. Squeex read aloud a comment from a viewer and said:
“‘You’re down on game variety.’ Dude, that’s like my first job was working in an investment bank and I lost $100,000. Anyway, three months later one of my bosses said, ‘Hey, can we meet?'”
He claimed he was sure he would be fired soon, but then something completely unexpected happened:
“I thought I was going to get fired, and my boss and his boss’s boss take me to the meeting room and say, ‘We’re going to give you a promotion.'”

The Twitch streamer started giggling and continued by talking about the initial reaction he had after being promoted:
“I thought, ‘What?!’ You can’t tell me that! What the heck! You can’t tell me that, I can’t believe they said that to me! I was really pissed off for a second, and then she said I’d get paid more. Let me tell you, I’m riding that white heel up baby Let’s the fuck go! Holy shit!”
Fans were curious how Squeex managed to endure a $100,000 loss while employed by the company. He stated:
“It was an accounting error. It was my fault, it really was my fault. I take the ‘L’ for, like, am I an asshole for someone’s $100,000? Am I the asshole, really? It happened once , once. once!
