Kick, a new streaming platform looking to compete Pull out, took a bold step by sending one of Twitch’s top streamers, Kai Cenat, a special gift. Kai is a highly successful Twitch streamer and YouTuber known for his engaging and entertaining content, which has garnered him a large following. Recently, Kai made headlines by becoming the most subscribed Twitch streamer, surpassing two streaming giants, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Ludwig, with over 300,000 subscribers during his 30-day subathon. He was also named Streamer of the Year at QTCinderella’s Streamers Awards, cementing his status as one of the biggest names in the streaming world.
Following his recent accomplishments, Twitch sent Kai a gift as a token of appreciation, but it turned out to be underwhelming. When Kai opened the package on his stream, he expected something impressive like a promising contract, but instead he found a shoe box. The incident became a talking point among his followers, and many users on Twitter joked about the unconvincing nature of the gift, with one person even commenting that Kai was supposed to receive $100 million but only got shoes instead.
However, Kick has now surpassed Twitch by sending Kai a custom pair of green Nike x OffWhite Air Force 1s. During his April 14 broadcast, Kai opened packages from his mailbox and was pleasantly surprised to find the unexpected gift wrapped in Kick’s branding. Despite not yet being signed to Kick, Kai jokingly wondered if this gift from Kick was the big announcement. The shoes left Kai in ecstasy and wonder, depicting a thoughtful gesture by Kick that will leave a lasting impression.
By sending Kai a personalized and valuable gift, Kick has shown that they are willing to go the extra mile to attract top streamers, which is likely to give the platform more exposure and attract more streamers and viewers. While it’s unknown if Kai Cenat will ultimately move to Kick, popular streamer Adin Ross recently announced that Kai Cenat will be moving to Kick along with other top Twitch streamers.
Despite being the most popular streaming platform, Twitch has been criticized for not adequately acknowledging its top streamers. For example, Twitch’s recent gift to Kai Cenat was viewed by some as a missed opportunity to show their gratitude and support for one of their most successful streamers. This is not an isolated case. Popular streamer Ludwig Ahgren, who was the top streamer on the platform, also said he felt undervalued by Twitch.
