After a frantic race around Talladega Superspeedwaythe NASCAR Cup Series now leads to a track known as the “Monster Mile”.
Dover Motor Speedway, a mile long concrete oval with high walls in Delaware, has been the scene of some chaotic racing in recent years. NASCAR races have been held at the track annually since 1969.
Here’s everything you need to know for this weekend’s Würth 400 at Dover:
What is the NASCAR at Dover entry list?
36 riders will compete at Diver this weekend. The usual drivers are all lining up – except for Alex Bowman, who will miss his first race of the season after sustaining a vertebral fracture in a sprint car event (non-NASCAR race) on Tuesday.
Xfinity series regular Josh Berry will fill in for Bowman while he recovers. Berry was doing six races when he filled in for Chase Elliott earlier this season after breaking his leg in a snowboarding accident. Elliott returned at Martinsville Speedway two weeks ago.

When is the NASCAR race at Dover in 2023?
The Würth 400 is set for Sunday, April 30th at 1pm ET. The race was originally scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. ET but was moved forward by an hour due to weather concerns.
Before the race on Sunday there will be practice sessions and qualifying sessions. The 36-car field will be divided into two groups, with each group practicing for 15 minutes at 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday.
Qualifying begins right after practice. Each car from the two practice groups will complete a single lap on the first lap, with the five fastest times in each group advancing to the final lap. On the final lap, the 10 remaining drivers will each complete a single lap to set the top 10 starting order, while 11th to 36th places will be determined based on speeds from the first lap.

Who are the previous winners at Dover?
Elliott is the defending champion at Dover, having led 73 laps en route to victory at the track last May. It was Elliott’s second career win at Dover.
Alongside him there are three other multiple winners at Dover Racing this weekend: Busch, Truex and Harvick with three wins each. Three other drivers have clinched a win at Dover: Keselowski (2012), Larson (2019) and Hamlin (2020).

What’s the weather like for NASCAR at Dover this weekend?
It does not look good.
Wet tires are not available for Dover Motor Speedway and the track has no lighting, resulting in a tight time window to get onto the track Saturday and Sunday.
NBC Philadelphia expects a wet weekend with a 65% chance of rain on Saturday and a 75% chance of rain on Sunday. The rain is expected to clear up on Saturday afternoon but Sunday appears to be rainy in the afternoon around race time. The Dover race was postponed to Monday last year due to rain and that could happen again this year if the forecast doesn’t get clear.
