Tottenham host Wolves in the first game of the Premier League TV schedule at the weekend as Antonio Conte’s side look to build on a strong start to the 2022/23 season.
Their 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge last Sunday was a modern classic – a fiery London derby rife with controversy and crowned by a late Harry Kane equalizer – but Conte’s heated handshake with Thomas Tuchel earned him a red card and meant that he will not be on the sidelines at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
His Spurs side weren’t at their best against Chelsea but showed a fire and determination that the club have lacked in recent years.
However, they will want much more control when they welcome Wolves to north London for Saturday’s lunchtime opener and will be keen to capitalize on the visitors’ slow start to the new season.
Bruno Lage’s debut season at the top has been hugely impressive but they have only picked up a point from their first two games against Leeds United and Fulham.
Wolves won 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in February but Spurs have made huge strides since then and the same cannot be said for Lage’s side.

Our prediction: Tottenham v Wolves
Tottenham were second best against Chelsea last weekend and rode their luck, but the steel they showed in the fight for a point was certainly encouraging.
You’ll expect to be on the mend against a Wolves team that’s still pacing the aisles at the start of a new campaign.
Even without Conte in the dugout, it would be a surprise if his side didn’t get back to winning ways.
Our prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Wolves (6/1 at bet365)
