Fine dining, picnics for two, celebrity chef master classes and even a bottomless brunch are just some of the exclusive events this year at Taste Bundaberg Festival, tickets for which go on sale today.
Running from August 5th to 14th, the festival will serve up the finest local produce and showcase local food, drink and culinary ventures in a mix of events, activities and experiences.
Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Culture and Events Portfolio Spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the launch event will be held on Friday 5 August with Let the Night Be Gin at Kalki Moon Distillery.
“Rick Prosser and his team will be serving a treat, including the Blue Mint Smash cocktail, made from the finest blueberries grown at Abbotsleigh Farm in Gin Gin,” he said.
“There will be live music and delicious food to celebrate a fantastic evening celebrating all things local and the dawn of taste!”
Cr Learmonth said Banquet by the Beach is a new addition to the 2022 program and will feature a feast of delicious food using all local ingredients, held amongst genuine Nordic event tipis on the Bargara coast.
“Artisan Barbecue and Bundaberg Lunch Box will be hosting the event and I’ve heard they will have a fantastic selection,” he said.
“Some of the other great events under the Taste program include master classes from celebrity chefs Colin Fassnidge and Kirsten Tibballs and the very popular Taste Farmers Market will be back to showcase all of our wonderful producers and businesses!”

Local businesses on board ensure a taste experience
Water Street Kitchen will be bringing their best recipes to the table this year for Taste, with their long lunch as part of the 10-day programme.
Guests are offered a six-course tasting menu, which can be optionally paired with wine or something sweet from the cocktail menu.
Owner Alex Cameron said it was important to him and the region as a whole to be a part of the food festival.
“It gives us the opportunity to showcase and promote local farmers, producers, distillers and businesses,” he said.
“Specifically, we’re going to be showcasing tons of zucchini, zucchini flowers, sweet potatoes, herbs, gin, rum, beer and anything else made in this region.”
The Water Street Kitchen Long Lunch is one of 27 events taking place as part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival.
Tickets for the Taste Bundaberg Festival officially go on sale today at noon.
