Father’s Day is upon us once again and we thought what better way to celebrate hot Jewish dads? What Makes a Hot Jewish Dad? Well, as popular TikTok phenom Elyse Myers says, “Hot is a choice, I’m hot because I say it.” These Jewish dads are hot because we say it. (My apologies to everyone on this list who doesn’t identify as hot, but maybe reconsider?)
We’ve compiled a non-exhaustive list of Jaddies (a term coined by actor Brett Gelman, who defines the term as: “It’s a Jewish Zaddy! Elliott Gould’s a Jaddy, but so is Adam Sandler. Especially like a.” ‘Adam Sandler from Uncut Gems. The sandman is a big jaddy. It’s like a sexy Jewish manly man.”) and hot Jewish dads. Is this list an excuse to drool over a bunch of Jewish beauties? Yes, of course, we are only human! But it’s also an opportunity to celebrate Jewish dads, who we think are hot for reasons beyond physical attractiveness.
With this in mind: let the ogling begin!
Table of Contents
Taika Waititi
Born Taika Cohen, the Jewish Māori actor, director and father of two is honestly so hot it makes me feel a little uncomfortable. As if he had become silver fox too close to the sun. This man exudes sexy energy at a level that feels unsafe and potentially dangerous to the environment.
Aside from his looks, his charisma at the highest level, and his talent as an actor and creator, I think Taika Waititi is one hot Jewish dad to star in a show that made so many LGBTQ+ people feel, seen, validated and to be celebrated year – “Our flag means death.” Featuring gay and non-binary characters and actors, the show, in which Waititi plays Blackbeard, has become an all-time cult hit thanks to TikTok. (PS if you’re looking for more pirate representation in your life, yes there were Jewish pirates).
Josh Gad
Um, we love a man who can sing and act like it’s nobody’s business and also play little Uno with his daughters. Gad is a total Jewish hottie, and yes, human. He spoke out against anti-Semitism, helped people get parents through the pandemic, and is a provider of much Jewish joy in general. This is a man who says his Jewish mother’s birthday should be a national holiday.
Here he accidentally gives us some Anthony Bridgerton vibes:
Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd is People magazine’s sexiest man alive and honestly I agree, I agree a million times. Not only does this man look like he’s struck a Dorian Grey-ish deal for eternal youth, he’s funny and quirky and doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously. Jewish father-of-two says father is his favorite role (cheesy but aw) and he loves his wife Julie Yaeger.
Andy Samberg
I’ve had an absolute crush on Andy Samberg since his early SNL days, and I know I’m not the only one. Samberg exudes genuine nice Jewish boy energy. He also gave us such a beautiful Jewish portrayal as Jake Peralta did in the cult hit Brooklyn Nine-Nine (we miss it so much). Samberg is married to the incredible harpist, actress and singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom and we love that he knows how lucky he is. The two had a daughter in 2017.
Samberg embodies the forever young wacky Jewish dad look and if that’s not a guy, I don’t know what is.
Adam Levin
We Love Us, a tattooed pop star with the voice of an angel whose videos feature incredible Jewish women. The Maroon 5 frontman is a Jewish father of two and also a man who looks at his Jewish mother as if she hung the moon and we love him.
Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz rhymes with schvitz (the Yiddish word for sweat!) because he lets us do that when we see pictures of him (you thought an article about Jewish dads didn’t have lame Jewish dad jokes? Well, the joke lies with you). Seriously, the musician and actor, named after his Jewish uncle, is the definition of dreamboat.
Kravitz is also so lovingly supportive of his daughter, Zoe Kravitz (whose mother, Lisa Bonet, is also Jewish). Here he watches their host SNL and is delighted to see them in “the building where they shine”. [her] Met grandparents and work.” Love this so much.
Bryan Greenberg
Bryan Greenberg became a father to twins this year when he and wife Jamie Chung welcomed their babies via surrogacy, which made the very dreamy Jewish actor and musician even more indescribably attractive to me. I mean look at that dad, dad-ing.
Greenberg also recently spoke about his Jewish identity in the amazing YouTube special, “Recipe for Change: Standing Up to Antisemitism.” We love a thoughtful Jewish father.
Andy Cohen
Does it feel weird to thirst for Andy Cohen? He’s the sweetest, healthiest Jewish dad of all, and we love seeing pictures of him and his kids. But let’s face it, we’re talking about a handsome Jewish man.
I mean, can we talk about this picture of young Cohen, please?
Adam Sandler
The internet loves Adam Sandler, and his latest film, Hustle, is actually getting really good reviews. We love Sandler for being this incredible Jewish dad who will do anything to pick up his daughters, get them on stage to sing a Jewish version of Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” throw them lavish birthday parties, tailored to their interests. We also love that he’s known for just being a really supportive, giving person to work with. And let’s face it, nobody wears basketball shorts like him.
Jaddy energy all the way.
Tsahi HaLevi
Ugh, Tsahi HaLevi’s brooding energy is legendary. The ‘Fauda,’ ‘Hostages’ and ‘Mossad 101’ star recently became a father for the second time when his wife, Arab-Israeli TV host and actress Lucy Aharish, gave birth to their son Adam (he has an 18-year-old son from previous marriage.)
The marriage of HaLevi and Aharish has caused some controversy as, unfortunately, marriage between Jews and non-Jews is still a hot topic in Israel. And while that’s annoying, it’s also undeniable that their union has helped further normalize marriages like hers. These two are absolutely adorable together, HaLevi is just a sweet dad and yes, very hot too.
Lior Raz
We love a hot Jewish man who also gifts us with some cerebral quality TV. Raz is the creator and star of the cult hit Fauda and the frankly not-so-great but still-boosting Netflix show Hit & Run. He is currently in the process of starring in the Apple TV+ anthology series The Crowded Room.
He is also a Jewish father of three children. Check out him being cute with his youngest:
Nate Berkus
Design dad! We love Berkus for making every room look fabulous and every cardigan looking stylish. The Jewish father of two is so stylish and we love him.
Lior Ashkenazi
Now, this list has some serious silver fox energy, but I couldn’t possibly not include the very, very easy on the eyes and ears Lior Ashkenazi. The 53-year-old Jewish father says his mother tongue was Ladino. He has appeared in countless films and TV shows, is open about his politics and is not afraid of being cast in controversial roles. And yes, he is, in the words of another Jewish father, “really, really, ridiculously good looking.”
Jon Bernthal
The Jewish father of three who rose to fame in ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘The Punisher’ and is currently starring in the HBO miniseries ‘We Own This City’ can be our father, please and thank you.
Jeff Goldblum
This man is like (kosher?) wine – he only gets better with age. Goldblum, who has two children with his wife Emilie Livingston, is a fashion icon, a gorgeous male specimen and quite possibly the quirkiest man alive, and we love him for it.
Happy Father’s Day to all hot Jewish fathers! Remember, hot is a state of mind.
