LISBON, Ohio – Stage Left Players will present Disney’s Freaky Friday the Musical this weekend and next at the Trinity Playhouse, 234 Lincoln Way.
Curtain is June 17, 18, 24, and 25 at 7pm; and 2 p.m. June 19 and 26.
The show, based on the 2018 film of the same name, follows Katherine (played by Kolkata’s Olivia Rice) and her daughter Ellie Blake (Boardman’s Hanna Misko) as they break a magic hourglass, switch identities and find new understanding and love discover for each other.
Kandace Cleland is the director. Music Director Jodine Pilmer will lead a live band for the show.
The cast includes Parker Bello, Paul Dahman, Brady Duncan, Jenna Ebert, Lydon Freeman, Nate Garthwaite, Lillian Gerst, Aaron Hinchliffe, Zach Johnson, Kari Lankford, Makenna Liller, Christine Martin, Dylan Mauch, Ethan Rudinaugh, Lulu Strong and Jacob Ward and Tessa Young.

Woofstock with the All Star Band Labra Brothers
BROOKFIELD, Ohio — Woofstock, the annual music festival benefiting animal welfare organizations, will be held August 13 at Tiffany Banquet Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m
The musical line-up includes the Steel Valley All Stars, made up of some of the region’s best musicians, led by Rajma, and the Labra Brothers.
The event, now in its fifth year, will feature a basket draw. A silent auction includes autographed guitars by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Dave Grohl; signed plates by The Smithereens and Van Halen; and signed Star Wars movie posters; and a bass signed by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Tickets are $50 at the Steel Valley Spay Neuter Clinic in Girard.
VIP tables of 10 are available for $1,000 in advance.
Neil Berg’s 50 years of Rock at Westminster
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College’s Celebrity Series will present Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock & Roll at the Orr Auditorium on Saturday 18 June at 7.30pm.
The show delves into the history of iconic music by telling the story of America since the 1930s.
With a cast that includes stars from both Broadway’s biggest rock musicals and rock ‘n’ roll singers, Berg tells the untold stories of the 50-year history of music that changed the world forever.

Kelly’s Side Door Tavern opens
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Kelly’s Side Door Tavern recently opened at 1403 Old Butler Road in the township of Shenango. The site previously housed Mulligan’s Restaurant and Lounge.
The bar has six big screen TVs, games of skill and a family dining room.
The bar is owned and operated by brothers Tim and John Kelly, who also own and operate Kelly’s Down by the Riverside Saloon in Bridgewater and JKell’s Front Door Tavern in Darlington.
Kelly’s offers a wide selection of craft and domestic beers, as well as bourbon, scotch and Irish whiskeys.
The menu is based on traditional Irish house specialties including fish and chip baskets, fresh cod dinners and sandwiches. Shepherd’s pie, Guinness stew, a Reuben sandwich and wings. There are also homemade desserts, including Irish Whiskey Bread Pudding.
Lawrence County Tourism website upgrade
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Visit Lawrence County website, VisitLawrenceCounty.com, has been updated with new features that make it easier to navigate and search for events.
The Build Your Own Suitcase feature allows residents and visitors to create their own itineraries from dining to events.
The Educational Guide to Lawrence County is designed to teach high school students about Lawrence County. The goal is to encourage community pride, engage students in their own community, and encourage positive thinking about where they live.
Another new feature is an online store where hometown goods can be purchased, including t-shirts, jewelry, locally authored books and Home is Here items from the town of New Castle.
Volunteers wanted to clean up Riverwalk
NEW CASTLE, Pa. – New Visions is looking for volunteers to clean up Riverwalk Park on Saturday, June 18 from 9am to 12pm.
There will be landscaping (bring scissors if you have some), some weeding (gloves provided) and some flowers planted (shovels provided). There is a particular need for some pressure washers to clean areas of the rocks and stage.
The park is used for concerts and other community events.

Art exhibition featuring works by LP Snowe at the JCC
YOUNGSTOWN – The work of local artist LP Snowe II will be on display June 20-August 1 at the Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation Art Gallery at Youngstown Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane. There will be a reception on June 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The exhibition “Cats infiltrate the optic nerve” includes 15 pencil and ink drawings.
Snowe’s influences include the spacecraft, alien planets, and futuristic architecture artwork on the covers of 1960s and 1970s science fiction paperbacks.
He combines all of his influences with his love of cats and cartoons to create a unique artistic style.
Born in Warren in 1953, Snowe is a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and received an associate degree in law enforcement from Kent State Trumbull.
His artwork has been accepted by 27 art exhibitions including the Erie Art Museum, Butler Institute of American Art, Cleveland Institute of Art and the Ohio State Fair.
