Walky Park gears up for a massive weekend of khanacross action as the Walkerville All Car Club hosts round three of the Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship.
More than 35 competitors are already confirmed to take part in the event, which also includes the third round of the local Walky Park series.
Competitors will have the opportunity to show off their immense skills and insight behind the wheel against some of the best khanacross competitors South Australia has to offer.
Headlining the impressive entry list in a shared Subaru Impreza WRX are current championship leaders Michael and Bradley Clements, the latter heading into the round with a small four-point advantage.
While they aren’t the only WRXs vying for outright victory, their closest competitor in Sam Humphries also confirmed his participation this weekend and is also one of the favorites to claim G-Class honours.
Both Damien Wilson and Steve Leo will be looking to spoil the championship top-three party, with a good result this weekend short of putting them in contention for the title.
Wilson currently sits fourth in the standings and will drive a Nissan Silvia S13 while Leo will challenge in his Honda Civic.
While the state championship contenders will battle for vital points, they’ll still have to worry about entries in the Walky Park series, with the last outright winner, Carwyn Harries, back to try for back-to-back wins.
His closest competitors Matt Henderson and outright first-round winner Michael Stroh will also return to the series, while a handful of challengers, including Andrew Gleeson and Joshua Field, will be aiming to do one or two better this time around after vying for podium places in the later rounds.
The facility will open first thing Friday morning for competitors, but the action will kick off on Saturday morning and continue until 3 p.m. ACST on Sunday, where the trophy presentation will then take place.
Spectators and accredited media are strongly advised to attend the event, with a brilliant driving display through a wide variety of automobiles that will keep all attendees entertained throughout the weekend.
Round three of the Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship and Walky Park Series will take place at Walky Park on July 22-23.
