Call of Duty is certainly far from its golden days now and it seems like the troubles for this franchise aren’t going to end sooner. The situation has only gotten worse since Modern Warfare II made its way in 2022. While the Infinity Ward section has proven to be a blockbuster in terms of sales, it cannot speak of its overall experience. Most gamers have criticized it for changing the way they enjoyed COD games in the past.
A similar incident was witnessed again, with the game’s movement mechanics eventually frustrating fans and professional players alike. This instance occurred during a recent CDL match.

Renowned streamer and content creator, ModernWarzone, recently took to Twitter to share a video. It was a short gameplay clip from a match between Vega Legion and Florida Mutineers. The clip showed the Mutineers’ Brack using a snake mechanic to avoid being shot by Legion Clayster. In the end, the latter had the last laugh as his sharp aim surpassed Brack’s snake tactics.
However, what disappointed Call of Duty players after watching this video was the lack of more movement options in Modern Warfare II. It’s pretty obvious when you watch the clip. That’s because spamming to meander isn’t really a skill, according to loyal franchise lovers.
Popular pro gamer and two-time national champion Doug Censor Martin also reacted to this video while slamming the developers for ruining the classic COD experience. “It’s actually pathetic. Please do something to fix broken mechanics in the future. I’m sure it’s not easy, but the reality is Our game was BETTER 10 years ago because things like that couldn’t happen“ he wrote.
Meanwhile, other players and fans have also criticized the creators for degrading the gameplay by introducing broken mechanics. Check out some more reactions below:
