Edie McClurg, who famously starred in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and a slew of other films, is a victim of elder abuse, her family claims. Edie’s family said in court filings, the New York Post reported August 2, that a man named Michael L. Ramos claims to be a “longtime” boyfriend and was attempting to marry her. With the 76-year-old suffering from dementia, her family believes Edie may not even know what is happening. Michael, the court documents said, managed to “muddle” into the actress’ life and has been living in her home since 2017. Edie, who is under a conservatory, was “never involved [in] has a “romantic relationship” with Michael, her family insists, but fear he “is being or might be attacked [Edie] and that she might not even know it’s happening to her.” Michael has denied assaulting or sexually abusing Edie. The judge, the Post reported, ruled that Michael “did not enter into a valid marriage” with the actress.

Make no mistake about who Kevin Costner supports politically. On August 1st, Liz Cheney tweeted a picture of the actor rocking a pro-Cheney t-shirt on the set of his hit series Yellowstone. The white T-shirt read, “I’m for Liz Cheney.” In her caption, the Wyoming congresswoman wrote, “Real men put country before party.” The post trended on Twitter for a while. Despite her long history as a staunch conservative, Cheney is traveling with the Republicans after she was one of 10 party members who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. She is also co-chair of the House Select Committee investigating the attack in which rioters violently attempted to prevent Congress from confirming President Joe Biden’s victory. During the hearings, Cheney often called on members of her own party to continue embracing Trump, opining that the party largely preferred the former POTUS to America.

Ne-Yo and his wife are on the run, and it’s chaotic. Crystal Smith filed for divorce, TMZ confirmed on Aug. 4, claiming her husband, to whom she has been married for more than six years, recently fathered a child outside of their marriage. The paternity allegation came just days after she publicly slammed him, claiming he had been unfaithful for years. “8 years of lies and deceit,” she wrote on Instagram. “8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and my husband with numerous women who sell him their bodies unprotected… every single one of them! To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement. Asking me to stay and accepting is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist.” A day after her post was published, Ne-Yo responded on Twitter. “For the sake of our children, my family and I will complete our challenges behind closed doors,” he said on July 31. “Personal matters shall not be brought up in public forums and will dissect my and my family’s privacy at this time.”

After once telling Chrisley she would “never speak to her father again,” Lindsie admitted that she and her father, Todd Chrisley, have reconnected. However, she said her father’s ongoing legal position — he and his wife are awaiting sentencing after being convicted of fraud and tax crimes — had nothing to do with the reconciliation, saying her divorce from Will Campbell sparked the reunion. “After my divorce issues broke, my dad posted, ‘I’m here, I love you, whatever’s going on in your life, I see it,'” she recalled on the Southern Tea podcast. “It really allowed us to reconnect. [It was] definitely about my divorce.”

Almost two years after a devastating second trimester pregnancy loss, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are expecting another baby. The model and cookbook author announced the happy news on Instagram on Aug. 3 with a selfie that revealed her growing baby bump. “The last few years have been a mix of emotions to say the least, but joy has once again filled our homes and hearts. Chrissy wrote. “At every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘Okay, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce it,’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief when I hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nervousness, but so far everything is perfect and beautiful and I feel hopeful and great. Okay, phew, it was very hard to keep going for so long!”

It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s Tom Cruise! The actor was in England filming the seventh film in the Mission: Impossible franchise and had a hilarious exchange with a couple on a mountain. Just before he did a stunt for the movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the actor landed by helicopter on the top of England’s High Crag. After noticing a couple relaxing at the top of the mountain, Tom apologized for the interruption. “Sorry to disturb your peaceful walk with all that noise – I like your dog,” Tom apparently called out to Sarah Haygarth at the 2,440-foot summit. Sharing the moment with The Sun, Sarah recalled how Tom was dropped off and immediately readyed his parachute like he was jumping off the mountain and paragliding. Sarah called out, “Are you really jumping down there?” to which Tom nodded and simply replied, “See you later guys.” And just like that, Tom walked to the edge and jumped as his parachute opened.
