Previously, the NASCAR Xfinity Series had come to an end at Martinsville Speedway. John Hunter Nemechek was the one who won ahead of Sammy Smith and Cole Custer. The former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver was quite dominant throughout the race, taking just five laps to take the lead. From there he led an amazing 198 laps and trotted to victory. However, it turned out that he had pushed so hard that his tires were completely destroyed. To the point where his tires caught fire during his celebratory post-race burnout.
Of course the car was totally broken, but at least he won the race before the inferno. Before long, many NASCAR fans reacted to the flaming scene. Many of them were thrilled to see Nemechek win and hoped he would move up to the Cup Series in the future. One fan said on social media: “Bring this guy a top tier cup ride next year”and another commented on the fiery scene, “It’s getting hot in here.”
