game preview
Wakefield Trinity has been something of a bogeyman for the Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Super League and they can pile misery on for their beleaguered visitors at Belle Vue on Sunday.
The high-spending Wolves find themselves in tenth place and have lost their last four games, conceding 40 points on three occasions.
Wakey wasn’t much better, but they ended a six-game losing streak last Sunday with a stunning golden point win over Hull FC.
Trinity was 14-0 down against the Black & Whites but bounced back to win 19-18 in overtime after knocking out Hull in the second half.
That sort of fight suggests Willie Poching’s men can get something out of this game and it’s the friendly mentality that Wolves have been sorely lacking for most of the year.
Wire has lost their last three encounters with Wakefield, who defeated them 38-22 in round six.
Things could get worse for Warrington and Castleford’s poor run looks set to continue on Sunday.
They step out into the blazing heat of southern France and it would be no surprise to see them wither quickly.
Cas were hammered by Wigan last week and have lost their last four games.
Toulouse have won just two of their 14 Super League games but have remained broadly competitive, as underscored by an impressive 22-20 win over St Helens in round six.
Olympique have been handicap winners in ten of their 14 games this season, but it looks like a value bet to pick up only their third win of the season.
Champions St Helens are aiming for five wins this Sunday and they should be too strong for Hull KR, who have won just one of their last four games.
