The second season of the Superstar Racing Experience kicks off this weekend, as does Tony Stewart, who is also one of the founders of the racing league, defends his title. The SRX action begins at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., which has not hosted a NASCAR race since 1953 but has hosted Automobile Racing Club of America races for the past three years. Three other winners from last year’s circuit will join the 12-rider SRX 2022 at Pensacola: Marco Andretti, Greg Biffle and Ernie Francis Jr. You can see who wins by watching on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ with your must-have Premium plan.

Top SRX at Pensacola picks
Before you tune into Saturday’s race, you need to look at tips from SportsLine’s advanced computer model. SportsLine’s proprietary race model simulates each race 10,000 times, taking into account a number of factors including track history and current results.
Last season the model was all over Stewart and finished at the top of the SRX Series leaderboard at Eldora. The model, also known as the Stewart, wins at Knoxville, and now it’s dialed in for Saturday’s season-opening SRX race at Five Flags Raceway. In 2021, the model achieved five of Kyle Larson’s wins during a historic NASCAR Cup Series season and also went 15-10 in his head-to-head matchup predictions for the 2022 start. Earlier this season, winning in Austin was high for Ross Chastain, giving him a far better shot at victory than his 40-1 odds implied. The model was also high on Joey Logano before winning 15-1 as an underdog at Darlington. Anyone who followed his lead on these plays saw huge returns.
For Saturday’s race, the model predicts Francis, who won last year’s SRX lead at Lucas Oil Raceway, is struggling and unable to crack the top 10. Francis Jr. finished second in the points standings and had two top-five finishes last season, but things don’t look good for him on Saturday. Francis finished sixth in the first race of last year on another half-mile oval at Stafford Motor Speedway, which is the same length as the track in Pensacola.
Francis Jr. did not have much success at his regular circuit, the Indy Lights Series, where he finished no better than seventh in six races in the 14-car format. Most recently, he placed two 10th places at Belle Isle Park in Michigan and Road America in Wisconsin. The 24-year-old driver has not led a single lap on his basic tour this season.
The season opener features a field full of experienced drivers who won’t give up an inch with just six races on the SRX schedule.
