The Spider-Verse continues to expand in the world of film and television through the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony’s expansion of the world of Spiderman. One such expansion is the spin-off series for female superhero Silk, currently in development at Amazon.
Not much had been revealed about that silkexcept it’s being produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the two behind Sony’s hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. They are also working on the sequel which is currently in production.
But now we have a little more information thanks to the aforementioned producer Lord. In a recent interview with meeting‘s Crew Call Podcast gave Lord an update on the show, saying the series is off to a “really exciting start” and that the news will be released “someday soon”.

“We’re developing all of these things with great care and it’s off to a really exciting launch silk‘ Lord teased. “It’s coming. There will be news soon enough.”
Silk, also known as Cindy Moon, is a Korean-American superhero and a classmate of Peter Parker, who was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave him his powers, leaving her with superpowers, including organic webbing and an advanced spider sense. She first appeared in the 2014 comic The Amazing Spider-Man #1.

It is currently unclear whether silk will be tied to the larger world of the MCU and the Sony Spider-Verse, but will be part of a large roster of Spider-Man characters, similar to How’s style the defenders was founded on Netflix (now on Disney+) and brought people like together jessica jones, daredevil, Luke cage and iron fist.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cindy Moon has a brief appearance in the Tom Holland-directed films, portrayed by Tiffany Espensen — although there’s no word on if she’ll be back for this series. It was first announced that a silk The film was already in the works in 2018.
