Sonic Origins is finally nearing its release date. Sega has released a new trailer for the upcoming remastered collection of the four classic Sonic titles during the Sonic Central livestream. The video titled “Sonic Origins Release Date Trailer” shows short gameplay footage of the classic.
Last month, Sega released the first trailer for the remasters, revealing essential details like release date, title, game modes, and other such information. Blue Blur fans are all excited as it will be the beloved hedgehog’s biggest birthday celebration.

Overview: Sonic Origins release date trailer
During the Sonic Central livestream on June 7th, 2022, Sega revealed a new trailer for Sonic Origins. The latest release date trailer offers brief glimpses of the four classic Sonic games that will be part of the remastered collection ahead of the release date.

The trailer features gameplay footage from the classic titles. Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sound CD. Players can also see the new cutscenes from the highly anticipated story mode.
You can see the iconic visuals of Green Hill Zone, the Motobug Badnik, the Flickies made from robots and the animals trapped in the pod, bringing back memories of the good old days.
There are also new features where you can choose between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or their pairs to play. There is also a new “Pause” menu. Other highlights of the footage include South Island, West Island and the Floating Island from the various games.

You can also see Sonic Spinball and Museum Mode’s Veg-O-Fortress, which appears to be the island it spawned on Sonic 3D explosion. Finally, the trailer reveals the release date of Sonic Origins and its availability on platforms.
Sonic Origins will be released on June 23, 2022
The trailer confirms the release date for Sonic Origins (once again) as the previous one also did the same. The remastered collection of classic Sonic the Hedgehog games will be released on Thursday 23rd June 2022. We will update the regional release time for Sonic Origins later.
Sonic Origins will be available on the same day that the hugely popular hedgehog celebrates his 31st birthday. The remastered collection was unveiled and announced last May to celebrate Sonic’s 30th anniversary.
Sonic Origins will be available on all major platforms
Once launched, Sonic Origins will be available digitally on all major platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. The Standard Edition is $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition is $44.99.

What else did Sega reveal on Sonic Central LiveStream?
Sonic Origins was the highlight of the last Sonic Central live stream. However, Sega also revealed a large amount of footage from games old and new, while showing glimpses of Sonic’s second on-screen entry.
Ben Schwartz took to the screen promoting the new Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie, which is seemingly hilarious and funny at the same time. It apparently contains some of the coolest moments from the series and fans will absolutely love it.
Next, the live stream revealed a look at Sonic Frontiers. It will be an open world game with a fresh concept. However, not much is known about it yet. It still has time in the development phase and we can only wait for further announcements.
Sega also gave us a look at Sonic’s upcoming animated series on Netflix – Sonic Prime. This seems like a very exciting time to be living as a blue hedgehog fan. There are many things to do and the coming months will prove to be incredible.
