Hawkeye star Fra Fee has provided an update on the status of the prequel show Beauty and the Beast, Little Town, starring Josh Gad and Luke Evans.
Actor Fra Fee has given an update on this Small citythe delayed Beauty and the Beast Prequel TV Show. In 2017, Disney released the live-action version of its cherished 1991 musical film, tapping into its trove of treasured cartoons Beauty and the Beast. With Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, Beauty and the Beast proved to be a smash hit for House of Mouse, grossing $1.2 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing musical of its time. With its success, Disney tried to capitalize on the film’s enduring popularity by announcing it Beauty and the Beast prequel show Small city. The new project centers around the evil duo Gaston and LeFou of Luke Evans and Josh Gad and has been commissioned for a release on Disney+.
Touted as a limited series, Small city started making big strides in 2020. In March of that year, Gad, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz were named showrunners, and the following month original composer Alan Menken also confirmed he would be returning to score the show. Brianna Middleton was subsequently cast as the female lead, with Jelani Alladin, Fra Fee and Rita Ora later joining in key roles. However, just days after Ora’s casting was announced, Disney delayed it Beauty and the Beast Prequel show indefinitely citing creative challenges and scheduling conflicts with Gad and Evans. The show has not been canceled entirely, and it has been reported that there are plans to launch the series at some point in the future.
Now in conversation with attitude UKFee, who recently starred as Kazi on Disney+ hawk eyeoffered an update on the production status of Small city. The actor explained that he had no idea if and when filming for the series would begin. However, he is confident that the show will eventually go ahead as it eventually did “a heart project” for both Gad and Evans. As for staying connected to the project, Fee is unsure whether or not he will return to play his role, but he nonetheless wishes the project well and hopes it eventually comes to fruition. Read what the actor said below.
“I really hope that the project eventually comes to fruition because I know everyone involved was so passionate, and Josh Gad … it was a very passionate project for him and Luke Evans. So I think it’s going to happen – whether I’m involved or not, I’m not sure, I already felt like I was pushing it princely [laughs]so if it’s dragged out too long, I might have to audition for the king or something!”
in the Small city, Fee had been cast as a new character, Prince Benoit Berlioz. Although many details about his role have not been revealed, it was noted that Fee’ Benoit would be a charming royal who will become romantically involved with LeFou’s sister Louise. As the 35-year-old Fee notes, when too much time passes before the end Beauty and the Beast If the prequel show can’t take place, he’d just be too old to play a prince and, he jokingly notes, he’d be auditioning for the role of a king instead. Fee didn’t go into great detail about the circumstances behind it Small city‘s postponement, but he recalled the sweet gesture from Gad and Evans as they sent him thoughtful emails expressing their regret and dismay at how things had turned out.
Fee’s new comments make it clear that the Beauty and the Beast Spin-off series continue to remain in development limbo with no significant advances. Small city Filming was supposed to start in the spring, but it seems it will be a long time before production can continue. This isn’t entirely unexpected considering Evans and Gad remain busy with their film and television projects. Evans is currently filming Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio Movie and the New echo 3 TV series while Gad is busy with HBO avenue 5 and peacocks wolves like me. Once the stars have their hands free, only then would it make sense to continue developing Small city get going. The good news is that despite all the hurdles, Disney hasn’t canceled it Beauty and the Beast prequel show, so the hope remains that it will see the light of day at some point.
