Deadlines Contenders Television, where the top networks and streamers are showcasing their wares and Emmy hopes, kicks off Saturday morning to kick off a full weekend of one-stop shopping for anyone interested in this awards season’s best and brightest shows.
We’ve just wrapped up six months of Oscars season and we’re diving headlong into the shows that’re making waves on small screens – and believe us, there’s more content than ever. Just check out the lineup of studios and streamers attending our panel extravaganza at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles this weekend: Peacock, Prime Video, National Geographic, Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, CBS Studios, Showtime, Fox Entertainment, Paramount+, AMC /AMC+, HBO Max, Starz, Sony Pictures Television, ABC, Roku, Onyx Collective and Disney+.
Over the course of two days, Deadline will remind you of the breadth and depth of what we’ve observed over the past year and, in some cases, who we are around look. Our Contenders events are designed to give you a taste of what’s out there and maybe encourage you to check it all out. We do this through informed and entertaining conversations with key creatives and talent across a variety of shows (see this weekend’s full program and schedule below).
We’ll have a wide range of stars on hand this weekend, including Natasha Lyonne at her best poker face To Your Honor himself, Bryan Cranston. A small selection of others include Riley Keough and Sam Claflin making their first Contenders round with the cast daisy jones & the six, and Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn at their final Contenders performance Better call Saul. Also on tap are Eugene Levy, Patrick Stewart, Helen Mirren, Kerry Washington, Taron Egerton, and Evan Peters Abbott Elementary School‘s creator and star Quinta Brunson. And that’s just a hint as to who will show up.
Of course, we’re going to cover the waterfront of genres with the best comedies like the ones mentioned above Abbott Elementary School as well as new hits like shrinkage, whose co-creator and star Jason Segel will be in attendance; Dramas from the mega hit yellowstone (this cast will be joining us) too Yellow jackets; and limited series including the much discussed ones Dahmer – Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer story, Daisy Jones, Black bird and so many others.
Follow Deadline’s coverage on Saturday and Sunday, both on Deadline.com and on social media on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok with the hashtag #DeadlineContenders. On Tuesday we launch the streaming site with the full video from all panels.
Deadline contender television is sponsored by Apple TV+, Coverfly, Eyepetizer, Final Draft, Los Siete Misterios, Michter’s and Village Roadshow Entertainment. Partners include Four Seasons Resort Maui, The American Pavilion, Julia Wong Designs and Pampring.
