Sam Fox has revealed she was in tears when doctors found a lump in her throat amid a horrific cancer scare.
The former glamor model – who got engaged to girlfriend Linda Olsen in 2020 – has revealed she is due for surgery after a 10mm growth was noticed between her vocal cords.
The 56-year-old spoke to The Sun about the growth and revealed she was visiting Harley Street after struggling with her singing voice.
“When I saw the growth on screen, I was like, ‘Oh god, this isn’t normal,'” she told the publication. “It looked very big. You immediately think of throat cancer.”

Sam said doctors couldn’t be sure if it was something to worry about or not, but added they needed to “get that out as soon as possible”.
Sam admitted she’s “cried a lot” since the news and said her fiancee Linda Olsen is with her for support. She shared: “I was shocked. My fiancee Linda was with me and burst into tears.”
Sam continued: “The doctor said the growth is in a precarious position. Even if it turns out to be a benign polyp, scarring is very likely.”

“I’m just praying that everything will be fine,” she added.
Sam spoke last year OK! on how she still honors her late partner, Myra Stratton, as she prepares to wed Linda.
Sam was with Myra for 16 years and lost her to cancer in 2015 – and she knows she and Linda have their blessings.

“Her name comes up most days and there’s still a picture of Myra and I in the house,” she explained.
Sam continued: “Linda is not a jealous person. I was with Myra for 16 years and you can’t be with someone that long if you haven’t been around and don’t love that person.
“Of course I think of her and Linda is nice to her.”

Sam added, “While Myra was sick she would always say, ‘I really want you to meet someone when I’m gone because I know you would hate to be alone.’
“I was only in my 40s when Myra got sick, I was young and I had dreams of getting married.”
