Romesh Ranganathan has proven that he is anything but The weakest link by landing another series as the host of the quiz show.
Comedian Ranganathan has revived the BBC One quiz previously hosted by Anne Robinson in 2021 with an all-star celebrity version and will be back at the helm for new episodes this year.

He said: “I’m excited to do another series, partly because it’s a fun show and the response has been amazing, but mainly to avoid ‘It turned out to be Romesh The weakest link‘ Headlines.”
Kate Phillips, director of Unscripted at the BBC, added: “Under the renewed stewardship of our ringmaster Romesh, viewers can expect many more laughs and almost certainly plenty of backstabs as the nation’s favorite rapid-fire quiz returns. I can barely wait for it! ”
Ranganathan was a hit with viewers and the series peaked at 5.3 million viewers Be sure to come dance Special.

Celebrities for the new series, which will be filmed in Glasgow and aired later in 2022, are yet to be announced.
When Ranganathan took over as host from longtime star of the show Robinson in 2021, he admitted he struggled with her trademark wink.
He said The Graham Norton Show: “I’ve been teased about it a lot online and we’ve spent hours debating whether I should do it or something else like a wave, a blink or jazz hands.
“We talked about it more than anything else and talked about what the show is and what Anne is.
“I didn’t want to steal anything from her, so I’ll do something other than a wink, but it’s probably not as good as I’m making it sound like right now.”
Meanwhile, Robinson announced she was retiring as host countdownShe has said she turned down the opportunity to return for the reboot The weakest link.
Lamenting how much Awakening had changed the jokes on TV, she told The Mail: “Times have really changed. I don’t want to be a cheesy game show host and that’s what the BBC wanted. Where’s the fun in not being able to ask, ‘What do you do when you’re not eating?’ or ‘Did you get your hair cut for a bet?’”
