Rebel Wilson’s gay best friend, Australian actor Hugh Sheridan, has revealed he played Cupid for the Pitch Perfect star and set her up with new girlfriend Ramona Agruma.
Hugh, 36, commented “I win” under Rebel’s Instagram post, in which she came out and revealed her relationship with the designer.
Rebel also received a slew of congratulatory comments from her celebrity friends including Anna Kendrick, Ruby Rose, Perez Hilton, Melanie Griffith and Rebecca Gibney.

Hugh shared a series of pictures of himself with Rebel and Ramona on his own Instagram account and said he set up his “two best friends”.
“My two best friends,” he wrote, adding a wink.
He finished: “Call me c-hupid (sic) #genius”.

On Thursday, Rebel took to Instagram to share the news of her new relationship and posted a sweet photo of herself posing with her friend, designer Romana Agruma, in which both women are grinning from ear to ear.
In her caption, Rebel shared her excitement at her new relationship, joking that she’d “searched for a Disney prince” for years only to find out she “really needed a Disney princess.”
“I thought I was looking for a Disney prince… but maybe I really needed a Disney princess all the time,” she wrote, adding heart and rainbow emojis and the hashtag “#loveislove.”

Underneath, Rebel was inundated with congratulations from her celebrity friends and fans alike.
“Love you both madly,” the Pitch Perfect co-star wrote underneath.
‘Yes!’ Ruby Rose said, while Perez Hilton quipped, “Welcome to gay town!!”
Melanie Griffith and Rebecca Gibney commented on love heart emojis, while Towie star Gemma Collins wrote: “Absolutely congratulations to you both. Beloved senior year.’

Though Thursday marked Rebels and Ramona’s official debut as a couple, the two have actually been spotted together several times in recent months — even making a joint appearance on the red carpet at Vanity Fair’s Oscars party in March.
Aside from her coming out post, Rebel hasn’t shared any other details about her friend, who is an LA-based fashion designer and owner of sustainable fashion brand Lemon Ve Limon.
The actress revealed last month that she was dating someone, despite keeping their identity a secret, and told People that she had been set up with her partner – believed to be Agruma – “through a friend” before spending weeks getting to know each other each other on the phone.

Rebel’s most recent confirmed partner was Jacob Busch of the Anheuser-Busch family of brewers.
She and the heir started dating just before the start of the coronavirus pandemic and they made their red carpet debut in Monaco, but the relationship only lasted four months, ending around February 2021.
Earlier this year, the comics star was rumored to be dating Australian tennis player Matt Reid, although that relationship has never been confirmed.
Late last year, Rebel revealed that her “year of health” was fueled in part because she was “thinking about fertility.”
“I knew I would have a little more time,” she said of her weight-loss efforts in a December 2021 Instagram Live session. “I also froze my eggs because — as all good career women out there should point out — If that interests you, now is a pretty good time.”
“I was thinking about fertility and high-quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do that. I’ll get well,'” she continued. “And how I started is [that] I went to a professional place to do a detox.
