Preview of the first day
British entries will draw a lot of attention at Queen’s this week and the players could do worse than Cameron Norrie to win his opener against Grigor Dimitrov.
Third-placed Norrie rounded out the clay-court season with a title in Lyon and an admirable run into the third round of the French Open.
But on grass he can shift into a higher gear and Norrie will draw confidence from the fact that he reached the final of Queen’s last year, losing to Matteo Berrettini 6-4 6-7 6-3.
In front of his home crowd, he’s a bet 8-11 to defeat Dimitrov, who has lost two of his last four games.
At the French Open, things didn’t go quite well for Alex De Minaur, but he enjoyed a pretty strong clay-court season, reaching the semi-finals of the Barcelona Open and Italian Open.
He’s worth a bet to beat Reilly Opelka, who has lost three of his last five matches on the ATP Tour and lost his opener at Queen’s last year.
