After the tremendous success of Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the creators are gearing up for a sequel. However, the second part of Sukumar’s highly anticipated film has sparked a lot of discussion. Certain reports claimed that Vijay Sethupathi will play the antagonist in Pushpa 2: The Rule. However, the actor’s team clarified that Sethupathi is only attempting the role of a villain in director Atlee’s “Jawan”.

Vijay Sethupathi is NOT part of Pushpa 2
According to IANS, a source close to the actor said that at the time, Vijay Sethupathi was only playing the villain in director Atlee’s “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, and that he has not played a negative role in any of the other Telugu projects.
A segment of the media had published reports that Vijay Sethupathi had been cast in the sequel to the hugely popular Telugu film Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Meanwhile, the script for Pushpa 2 is said to be finalized and Allu Arjun is expected to start filming the film soon. In Pushpa, Allu Arjun plays an outsider who becomes the boss of a sandalwood smuggling syndicate. In the sequel he will be the boss and take over, including his bete noire, the policeman played by Faahad Faasil.
Vijay Sethupathi joins the Jawan cast
It has now been confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi will play the antagonist opposite SRK in Jawan. While plot details have been kept under wraps, Jawan has brought Vijay Sethupathi on board in a prominent villain role. The development was confirmed by Vijay’s publicist Yuvraaj, who tweeted on Saturday: “This is to clarify that #VijaySethupathi sir is only playing a negative role in Jawan of #ShahRukhKhan Sir at this time and that he is not playing a negative role in any other Telugu Projects, as is speculated (sic).”
Jawan started filming in Pune last year. SRK is believed to have some parts of the film as well. With Vijay on board the project, the full cast of Jawan includes the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover, Simarjeet Singh Nagra, Azzy Bagria and Manahar Kumar. Jawan will be released on June 2nd next year.
