Preview: Sarmiento vs. Patronato – prediction, team news, line-ups

Aiming to claim back-to-back home wins in the Primera Division for the first time since August 2021, Sarmiento play host patronage at the Estadio Eva Peron on Saturday.

The visitors, on the other hand, will come into the game fresh after ending a six-game winless streak in the league and will be looking to keep the ball rolling.

Sarmiento was brought down to earth after a 2-1 defeat by Estudiantes at the Estudiantes de La Plata on Wednesday.

Veteran Forward Mauro Bosselli scored in the 37th minute to put the hosts ahead in the first half and after Jonathan Torees restored par in the 57th minute, the former Wigan Athletic player converted his penalty in the 77th minute to restore the lead .

Although the 29-year-old only had 38% possession and was on the backfoot for most of the game Facundo Cobos scored against the flow of play to give the hosts a much-needed win.

While Patronato will be looking for back-to-back wins, they have struggled for results away from home, claiming two wins and losing six of their last eight away games since the turn of the year.

Next up, however, is an opposing side against whom they have been unbeaten in each of the last three Primera Division encounters between teams, clinching two wins and a draw since a 1-0 loss in 2016.

Luke Acosta has been sidelined since last February with a serious knee problem and remains out for Sarmiento.

Torres has scored and provided an assist in their first three games and we expect the 25-year-old to lead the attack again.

He should be supported in attack by an experienced striker Javier Toledo and Argentina international Luke Castrowhile Yair Arismendi should start in the middle of the park for the fourth game in a row.

As for Patronato, Sava cannot use the services of Fabio Vazquezwho sustained an ACL injury in the game against Union in April.

He is joined by a 27-year-old on the club’s injury table Matthew Pardowho has been out since December due to a tape problem.
