What is Babli Bouncer?
Babli Bouncer is an upcoming Hindi comedy directed by Madhur Bhandarkar (Indu Sarkar and Fashion) and produced by Star Studios and Junglee Pictures.
The film tells the story of a small town girl named Babli, played by Tamannaah, who moves from her remote village of Asola Fatepur to the bustling city of Delhi to pursue a career.
However, Babli is a unique personality and takes great pride in her physique, which allows her to intimidate most of the men at her local outdoor gym.
She decides that her career path will be to become a bouncer for a high-profile establishment, as the film “explores the different facets of the profession, which is usually male-dominated”.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, director Madhur Bhandarkar said, “I’m known for making films on subjects that no one has touched before.
“I found the world of bouncers very interesting, but female bouncers are new. Then we did some research and found out how most of the bouncers are from Haryana. They come to Delhi-Mumbai to work.” – Madhur Bhandarkar, via The Hindustan Times.
Babli Bouncer: OTT streaming release explained
Babli Bouncer will be released for OTT streaming on Friday, September 23 via Disney Plus Hotstarapprox.
An exact release time has not yet been publicly announced, but the new film is expected to release at 00:00 IST, in line with the platform’s typical update window for original content.
Disney Plus Hotstar is available to new customers through the following membership subscriptions:
- Premium – Rs 1499 per year, ad-free, four devices with 4K resolution
- Super – Rs 899 per year, ad-supported, two devices with Full HD resolution
- Mobile – Rs 499 per year, ad-supported, HD resolution device
The mobile plan is also available from Rs 199 for six months and Rs 49 for one month.
The film has a reported running time of two hours and 52 minutes and is set to be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
