Nicole Scherzinger shares her ohana spirit — and her skills as a sledgehammer.
In the finale of the second season of Secret Celebrity Renovation (broadcast Friday), the Masked Singer The 44-year-old judge returns to her native Hawaii to surprise her grandparents with a special home transformation.
Scherzinger credits her grandparents, whom she calls “Tutu” and “Papa,” with introducing her to the world of singing and dancing and helping with her upbringing.
In the exclusive preview from the CBS Original – which gives celebrities a chance to renovate the home of someone who played a special role in their rise to fame – the Grammy nominee kicks off the renovation project with some teardowns.
“I have no idea… how to do this, but I’m…” she begins, before being stunned by the show’s renovation pro. survivor Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano, who suggests that she hit a wall at her grandparents’ house with a sledgehammer. The singer quickly overcomes her hesitation.
“Yes!” she yells, then approaches with her hammer and says, “Okay, where should I aim?”
“It’s a bit scary,” she says in a confessional. “I’ve never picked up a sledgehammer.”
But that doesn’t stop them from enjoying themselves, as the clip shows Scherzinger yelling, “Nothing goes here!” and let out a scream before smashing the wall.
But it’s the project designer, HGTV regular Sabrina Soto, who really makes a dent. “Sabrina’s been busy right now,” Scherzinger says straight into the camera, while Mariano asks in the background, “Sabrina, who drove you crazy?”

Soto turns the project into a musical performance, singing the Pussycat Dolls hit “Don’t Cha,” and Scherzinger picking up the beat with her hammer.
When Scherzinger finally makes it to the other side, she peeks through the hole she made and says, “This is for you, Tut! This is for you, papa!”
Scherzinger recently said she plans to go back to making music that moves her. In April, she sang Broadway hits like “Don’t Rain on My Parade” while performing at the newly opened Sun Rose venue at the Pendry Hotel in Los Angeles. Funny girl and “Maybe this time”. cabaret. Growing up, Scherzinger said she was inspired by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bette Midler, Shirley Bassey, and Cher. “I am inspired by these and many women of this time,” she said. “Not only were they iconic fashionistas, they were bold and doing their own thing, their own way. They were captivating. And that’s what I want to achieve in my own performances.”
