Well, the 2000s-turned-star singer took a page out of Smith’s attack book and slapped her husband Patrick Carney in the face “once or twice.”

Branch was arrested for domestic violence, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
On Thursday, August 11, police officers were called to her Nashville, TN. house because of a possible domestic disturbance. The “Everywhere” singer admitted to hitting Carney “once or twice.”

The domestic disturbance came after she accused him of cheating on her on Twitter.
She posted a tweet accusing him of cheating on her while she was home with her six-month-old baby; However, less than an hour after the tweet went live, she deleted it.
When police got to their home, Carney had no visible injuries and Branch was taken into custody.
She was released early on $1,000.00 bail because she is breastfeeding her six-month-old daughter.
The couple have two children together.
Branch and Carney split after three years of marriage due to his indiscretions.

TMZ broke the news of the breakup with Branch, telling the outlet, “To say I’m completely devastated doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about myself and about my family. The ground was completely pulled out from under my feet and now I have to think about how to proceed. With children so young, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
On the same day of the attack, Branch took to Instagram to promote her new single “I’m A Man.”
She shared a video saying, “Thank you everyone for listening to ‘I’m A Man.’ I hope you like it so far. It’s a song I wrote about the pressure of being a man in our society and how far we still have to go to ensure women are equal.”
The timing of it all is interesting. Irony? Coincidence?
