For the second year in a row, top-flight players from Major League Soccer and Mexico’s Liga MX will go head-to-head in an all-star game (Wednesday, 8:30pm ET).
The combined All-Star game is one of three tentpole events in the growing relationship between the two leagues, which also includes the Leagues Cup – which will see all teams from both leagues compete in 2023 – and the Campeones Cup, which sees the champions the two leagues compete against each other and will be played on September 14th between New York City FC and Atlas at Yankee Stadium.
Minnesota United manager Adrian Heath will lead the MLS All-Stars while Atlas’ Diego Cocca will serve as manager of the Liga MX All-Star team.
In 2021, MLS won the All-Star Game on penalties, with Ricardo Pepi (then FC Dallas) taking the winning kick.
