Land Rover and Equestrian Sports New Zealand are pleased to announce a new partnership that will see year-round support of events and initiatives from grassroots to podium.
This is the first time the two organizations have come together, with the new partnership expected to have nationwide impact by enabling the launch of new competitions in the organisation’s eventing, show jumping and dressage disciplines.
“We are extremely pleased to launch this partnership with Equestrian Sports New Zealand which will give us a year-round presence in the equestrian sector and appeal to the wider community,” said Steve Kenchington, Jaguar Land Rover CEO of New Zealand.
“We look forward to making a significant contribution to the sport and supporting New Zealand riders as they compete on the world stage by introducing season-wide competitions in the three key disciplines.”
The announcement follows ESNZ’s latest strategy, which focuses on developing connections throughout the equestrian sport system with a focus on ensuring the well-being of horse and human.
Julian Bowden, CEO of Equestrian Sports New Zealand says:
“We are delighted that a company with such a proud heritage and traditions in the equestrian sport is joining us in a partnership that aims to advance the sport at all levels and in all disciplines.”
International event riders Tim and Jonelle Price commented:
“This partnership is really exciting for our industry. With Land Rover allowing for more competition across the country, we can encourage up-and-coming drivers by giving them more time on the field to hone their skills, which is fantastic.”
Land Rover has a strong heritage of supporting the equestrian sport and this new partnership will complement existing activities such as Land Rover Horse of the Year and Takapoto Estate Showjumping, and align with its global partnership strategy in support of the equestrian industry.
