When you think of people who have made legendary contributions to Disney, someone probably springs to mind.
It could be something like Robert Downey Jr. or Tony Baxter – or maybe Julie Andrews or Leota Toombs Thomas. There are those who deserve to be recognized for how they shaped The Walt Disney Company, and that’s how they do it Disney Legends Awards came about. This exclusive Hall of Fame recognizes people who set themselves apart – and now we know the next group of people to be immortalized as Disney Legends!
That D23 exhibition is just around the corner and is held at the Anaheim Convention Center September 9-11, 2022. Guests can expect a whole host of exciting announcements, panels, experiences and more!
Disney just announced that they will be launching at the Expo a NEW class into the Disney Legends Hall of Fame – and we know exactly who they are! These legends will be honored during the opening ceremony of the Expo weekend.
This year, Disney’s naming commemorates the impact these people had on the company Anthony Anderson, Kristen Bell, Chadwick Boseman, Rob’t Coltrin, Patrick Dempsey, Robert Price “Bob” Foster, Jonathan Groff, Don Hahn, Josh Gad, Doris Hardoon, Idina Menzel, Chris Montan, Ellen Pompeo, and Tracee Ellis Ross as Disney Legends!
That’s a pretty big deal as the club is pretty exclusive with only 304 other members. Not only that, it could mean that some of these legends actually show up at D23 Expo to be included! Only time will tell, but you can bet we’ll keep you updated on every aspect of the event.
The opening ceremony will include musical performances, special guests, “surprises for the audience” and appearances by Disney cast members on Broadway aladdin frozen, and The Lion King.
Emmy-winner Tamron Hall will host the 35th Disney Legends Awards, and Disney CEO Bob Chapek will be in attendance to give fans a first look at Disney 100 Years of Wonder – the celebration of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th birthday .
If you are attending D23 Expo, admission to the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony will be on a first come, first served basis at 10:30 a.m. in Hall D23. You can also stream the ceremony LIVE and we will update you with all the details.
