After months of public drama, Kanye West apologizes for the stress he caused Kim Kardashian. In a Sept. 22 appearance on Good Morning America, West shared a change of heart after coming under fire for mocking his ex and the mother of his four children on social media. “This is the mother of my children and I apologize for any stress I have caused even in my frustration as God is calling me to be stronger,” he said.

Following their split last year, West repeatedly expressed disagreements with Kardashian about co-parenting their children. Among these publicly shared concerns, he expressed a wish for his daughter North West not to be on social media, as well as a disapproval of her dress. West also mocked Kardashian’s relationship with comedian Pete Davidson, which lasted from late 2021 to August 2022.

Though he now apologizes, West also addressed the sentiment in the same interview when he expressed that he felt an imbalance in his co-parenting with Kardashian: “But nobody else isn’t causing stress either.” He added, ” I need that person who is less stressed and sane and as calm as possible to be able to raise these kids.”

West claimed he had to fight for a say in their children. “I have a voice, but I had to fight for it. It hurts you when you have to yell about what your kids are wearing… It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something I helped create,” he said. “I have the right to have a say in what my children wear, what they see, what they eat. I have a platform to say what so many fathers can’t say out loud.”

Apparently, the former couple’s most recent argument revolves around which school their children go to, as West wants them to attend his gospel school, Donda Academy. “I want my kids to go to Donda and I have to fight for a say.”

In February, Kardashian issued a statement responding to West’s various attacks on her parenting, writing, “Kanye’s constant need to attack me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North could cause… Divorce is difficult enough for our kids.” and Kanye’s obsession with controlling and manipulating our situation so negatively and publicly only causes further pain for everyone.” While Kardashian said she wants “nothing but a healthy and supportive coparenting relationship,” West’s behavior “keeps it on pace and Kick impossible.” She concluded her statement with, “I want to settle all matters regarding our children privately.”

While West apologizes somewhat for his antagonistic social media posts, it’s clear he still doesn’t play along when it comes to keeping their family disagreements private.
