Geelong champion Cameron Mooney has dumped Collingwood for letting Jordan De Goey travel to Bali during his mid-season farewell, calling it the “stupidest decision I’ve ever seen a football club make”.
De Goey has landed himself in hot water again after a video surfaced on social media on Friday night showing him partying at a Bali nightclub, making rude tongue gestures and mimicking a sexual act while he was in another part of the Footage appears to be trying to uncover a woman’s breast before she pushes him off.
It comes after a turbulent off-season for the 26-year-old, during which he was arrested in New York and resigned from the Magpies before his assault and molestation charges were settled in January.

Collingwood, who is in the midst of a four-game winning streak to return to the finals, has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
Other Fox Footy pundits have called De Goey’s behavior a “justified” person choosing “forbearance over discipline”, while also speculating it could cost the unsigned midfielder/forward millions in his next deal.
But Mooney primarily blamed the Magpies.
“I’m stunned that the club let him go. Whatever happens from here, Collingwood, it’s up to you. It’s the stupidest decision I’ve ever seen from a football club,” said the triple Premier player Fox Footy Live.
“Eight months ago he was in the United States, we know what happened there. He came back, he plays football well, the club plays football and now they allowed him to go there.
“Whether he meant to be stupid or not, just the fact that they let him get on that plane. You made your bed, Collingwood, you are idiots.
“Every player has to tell his club where he’s going at half-time. Someone left, ‘Bali, De Goey, yep tick. Let’s go, champ.”
Former Hawthorn sniper Ben Dixon agreed that Collingwood is “responsible” for ticking off his mid-season trip and urged the club figure largely responsible for accepting De Goey’s overseas request to come forward.
Dixon also questioned why De Goey allowed his friends to film him and post footage on social media.
“If you go there, tell your buddies to put your phone down. Why do you have to post this on Instagram? There’s nothing to win,” he said.
“Treat it like a game, what do you do when you go to the MCG? Put your phone in a pocket, you can’t use it.”
Mooney added: “The last time he was gone the phones came out. Didn’t you learn from eight months ago!? You can’t be that stupid.”
Fox Sports News’ Drew Jones highlighted how Pies coach Craig McRae has given all of his players a clean slate since taking over this season, but Mooney believed certain individuals needed to be treated differently.
Mooney revealed that former Geelong coach Mark Thompson turned down ex-Cats champion Matthew Scarlett’s offer to go on a football trip in the early 2000s.
“Sometimes a coach has to step on the gas,” he said. “If he doesn’t like it, who cares, you’re the coach.”
