Paolo Verde Valley, California football star Jonathan Crowe has been voted National Athlete of the Week by SBLive for November 6-13, as decided by fans and readers.
Crowe was a game-changer in a number of ways in his team’s 27-21 playoff win over La Jolla Country Day, rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown, while recording six tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.
He was nominated among the top 12 high school sports performers of the week and received 47.8% of the overall vote (23,820 votes), falling away from Notre Dame Prep (Arizona) defensive standout Trevor Auerbach (34, 2%) and Lake Zurich (Illinois) wide/defensive back Tyler Erkman (15.3%).

Carried 30 times for 301 yards and four touchdowns. Scored on a 45-yard run for the game’s first points, added a memorable 62-yard touchdown run early in the fourth and he nailed a 73-yard score to cement the win late to help send Center Grove to his fifth consecutive regional title in a 42-32 win over Warren Central.

Aiden Flora, SMA (Iowa) soccer
The junior quarterback put on an outstanding performance in a 49-35 Class 3A semi-final loss to Harlan, turning 29 carries into 238 yards and three touchdowns adding 149 passing yards and two more touchdowns through the air .
Luke Flowers, Rigby, Idaho Soccer
Passed 24 of 32 for 326 yards and a touchdown while running for two more scores against the state’s second defense in a 34-27 Class 5A semifinal win over Rocky Mountain.
Max Gainey, men’s soccer (Kentucky)
Returning to the field after a long absence, he recovered from a collarbone injury in time to lead Male to a stunning win over defending state champion St. Xavier. He threw a pass – an 11-yard touchdown – and caught the game-winning two-point conversion in overtime, diving to corral a pass from wide receiver Antonio Harris on a trick play.
