“This thing about people getting famous for basically doing nothing but still having these incredible careers.
“And then the reputation of women … I mean, Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, all of them.”
The comments came under fire on Twitter, with some critics noting that Aniston had famous parents and likely landed an instant break in Hollywood as a result.
Aniston’s late mother was actress Nancy Dow and her father, John Aniston, was famous for his role in the daytime soap days of our lives.

While some Twitter users agreed with her comments, others took offense.
“Jennifer Aniston had to settle for her opinions when her nepotism brought her into the industry, and now she continues to make $20 million a year just from syndicating a show that ended decades ago,” wrote one critic.
“They’re so pissed they can’t secure the celebrity title to stay in their weird Hollywood nepotism elite,” said another.
“Jennifer Aniston plays the same character in every movie, which is just a version of herself, and there’s nothing consistently,” said a third.
“The only thing that saves her is that she has pretty good co-stars to save as comic relief…always the NEPOTISM babies with no talent who want to speak their minds.”
Ouch!
Others noted that the rise of TikTok celebrities and social media influencers meant a wider range of people from different walks of life could now get a slice of the fame and fortune pie.
“People are so angry that the industry is more diverse and inclusive of people from all backgrounds who had nothing but a phone to put up to pitch their dream,” noted one Twitter user.
“Jennifer Aniston (nepotism baby) doesn’t talk about the true injustice to the acting industry (nepotism) and instead acts like the acting profession is being disparaged when people from all walks of life have the opportunity to become actors based on their own hard work and virality . ‘ said another.
A third wrote: “I feel so fortunate that nepotism got me into it before TikTok, YouTube, Twitch and other services gave other people a chance to be seen. I would never have been able to compete against such a pool of candidates’ – basically Jennifer Aniston.”
However, not everyone had a problem with the comments.
