EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Abby Steiner of Kentucky set a college record in the NCAA track and field championships in the 200 meters on a wet Saturday at Hayward Field. Steiner was concentrated until the finish, then she raised her arms and smiled broadly. Her time of 21.80 seconds beat LSU sophomore Favor Ofili’s record of 21.96, set that year. Ofili finished second behind Steiner. Julien Alfred of Texas won the 100, finishing in 11.014 seconds and just ahead of Kemba Nelson of Oregon in 11.020 seconds. Alfred set the college record in the 60 earlier this year. Florida won the women’s team title by 54 points, a day after the Gators won the men’s championship. Florida’s women also won the NCAA indoor team title.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Sonny DiChiara hit a two-run home run, Brody Moore’s sacrifice fly on top of the third finally gave Auburn the lead, and the Tigers’ bullpen allowed just one run through 8 1/3 innings of relief in their 7-5 win vs. Oregon State in Game 1 of the best-of-three Corvallis Super Regional. Auburn (41-19), No. 14 seed, can earn a place in the College World Series with a Game 2 win. Cole Foster hit Moore’s flyball in the third game to make it 5-4. Cooper Hjerpe, a finalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, was originally scheduled to start for 3rd-seeded Oregon State (47-17) but was replaced by Jake Phennigs due to an unknown illness.

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (AP) — Tim Elko drove with a single in the first run of the game and added a two-run double in a seven-run sixth inning to bring Mississippi to a 10-0 win over 11th overall Southern Mississippi in the first round of the Hattiesburg Super Regional. Ole Miss (36-22) and Southern Miss (47-18) will play again on Sunday. A Rebel win would send them to the College World Series. If the Golden Eagles win, it would force a decider game on Monday. Ole MIss is aiming for his sixth CWS appearance, but only his second since 1972. The Rebels have never won the event. Southern Miss only has one appearance – in 2009.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Dylan Rock drove a sacrificial fly into the starting gun in the seventh inning, and No. 5 overall Texas A&M defeated Louisville 4-3 to win the College Station Super Regional and become first Team that earns a place in the College World Series. Texas A&M (42-18) is heading into its seventh CWS and is looking for its first championship. Louisville (42-21-1) has made five CWS appearances — four of them since 2013 — without a title.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Luc Lipcius hit two home runs in an eight-run fifth inning, and Tennessee, ranked No. 1 overall, pulled off a 12-4 win over Notre Dame to stay alive in the Knoxville Super Regional . Tennessee (57-8) and Notre Dame (39-15) will play a third game Sunday with a College World Series berth at stake. The Fighting Irish defeated Tennessee 8-6 on Friday. Tennessee is looking for its second straight CWS appearance and sixth overall. The Vols never won the event, finishing runners-up in 1951. Notre Dame has made two CWS appearances – in 1957 and 2002.

CHAPEL HILL, NC (AP) — Peyton Stoval sparked a three-run fifth inning with a lead-off home run, Connor Noland hit 6 2/3 innings of shutout and Arkansas upset North Carolina 4-1 in the first round at Chapel Hill Super Regional. Arkansas (42-19) and North Carolina (42-21), both making tenth appearances in the super region, will play again Sunday. A Razorbacks win would send them to their fifth College World Series in search of their first title. A victory for the Tar Heels would force a winner-take-all game on Monday. The two schools are playing again for the first time in 33 years.

UNDATED (AP) — Texas A&M swept its NCAA super regional and advanced to the College World Series next week. Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Texas even won their best-of-three series. Mississippi, Arkansas, Auburn and Connecticut won their super-regional opener games, moving close to the CWS. Texas A&M beat Louisville 4-3 for a second straight win in a run and returns to the CWS for the first time since 2017. It’s the next step in a turnaround season under first-year coach Jim Schlossnagle.
