Marc Guggenheim, one of the writers on the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern TV show gives an exciting update on the status of DC drama. While The CW was the primary home of Warner Bros. Across many DC TV shows, HBO Max is becoming a new platform for the future of the franchise. One of the upcoming TV shows they have in the works is this Green Lantern Series from Arrowverse Executive Producer Greg Berlanti. First announced in fall 2019, HBO Max took off Green Lantern into the series in 2020, with Seth Grahame-Smith as showrunner.
Unlike 2011 Green Lantern Film starring Ryan Reynolds, the HBO Max series will not focus on Hal Jordan, but on several members of the Green Lantern Corps. Arguably the most expensive DC TV show that WB TV and HBO Max have produced, Green Lantern will take place over several decades as they follow different heroes. While Green Lantern Season 1 was ordered for 10 episodes but has been slow to progress, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has prevented the HBO Max adaptation from starting filming.
While it takes time for Green Lantern To kick off shooting season 1, one of the writers provides some positive updates. Guggenheim, who helped create Arrow and Legends of TomorrowShe was recently interviewed by the fan podcast Hall of Justice and chatted briefly about the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern Drama and what’s going on with it. While Guggenheim isn’t the showrunner, Arrowverse’s producer confirms the writers are almost done writing Green Lantern Season 1. At the time of recording, he was in the process of writing the draft for the Green Lantern Season 1 finale featuring:

Despite the lack of updates, there are a number of confirmed details about it Green Lantern Season 1. Lee Toland Krieger, a director of several shows produced by Berlanti, will officially direct the first two episodes of Green Lantern Season 1. American Horror Stories Finn Wittrock and blessing Jeremy Irvine was previously cast as Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and Alan Scott, respectively. Green Lantern also casts other notable characters from the DC Green Lantern Corps, such as Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Kilowog, and Sinestro. The HBO Max drama also creates a new one Green Lantern Character in Bree Jarta.
Even if there were delays, that’s not a problem Green Lantern will be Warner Bros.’ most ambitious DC TV show. Given the rich mythology behind the Green Lantern Corps, the HBO Max series could span multiple seasons if successful.
