Free PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games for July 2023

The PlayStation Plus Free Extra and Premium games for July 2023 have been announced, so let’s check them out before they’re available on the service Tuesday 18 July.

As a reminder, PS Plus is a three-tier system. Extra is the medium tier that unlocks a large library of downloadable PS5 and PS4 titles, while Premium is the higher tier that adds classic games and cloud streaming options to a wide selection of the library (Essential’s free offerings for July are already available).

This month features slightly fewer big names than previous ones, but there are still some notable titles, such as Extra’s leading July freebie: It takes two (PS5/PS4).

The 2021 Game of the Year winner at the Game Awards will be played entirely in co-op, either online or in person, with players taking on the role of a quarreling married couple who will be transformed into puppets. Over the course of its approximately 12 hours, the game offers players numerous types of game modes and mechanics, and there is a scene with an elephant will make you cry

Sniper Elite 5 (PS5/PS4) is another big name that offers players a large sandbox to plan and execute their kills from far away Undertale (PS4) is an absolute critics’ favorite for its innovative twists on RPG mechanics and memorable characters.

Zombie Survival Game World War Z (PS5/PS4) has been consistently popular, and adding it to Plus will only make it even more popular. Samurai warrior 5 (PS4) and Dynasty Warriors 9 (PS4) both try to overdo the classic warrior Formula in new directions, although the latter is somewhat controversial among fans due to various changes including the replacement of all English voice actors.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated (PS4) is a well-received remaster of a fan-favorite collectathon platform that’s particularly popular with speedrunners snowwalker (PS5/PS4) features a slew of licensed vehicles to drive through treacherous icy conditions.

Any games listed only for PS4 can still be played on PS5 and may even perform better. There simply aren’t any native PS5 versions that would make the most of the newer hardware.
