She-Hulk: Lawyer aims to explore the dynamic between Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters. The relationship between the two cousins will change forever once Walters gains her ability to assert herself on the show, and the trailers already showed a different kind of bond between them.
marketing for She Hulk revealed that Banner will ultimately train his cousin, but it is not yet known if he will end up helping her in her fight against Jameela Jamil’s Titania. Additionally, Smart Hulk’s appearance also raises questions about the series’ place in the MCU timeline, particularly after an intriguing connection Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ Post-credits scene.
Now, ahead of its premiere, a closer look at the training montage between the two cousins has surfaced online.

First clip of She-Hulk released
USA Today shared the first official clip of She Hulkshowing a training session with the titular character by Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters.
Mark Ruffalo’s character tries to teach his cousin what it’s like to be a big green rage monster, but clearly Jen is already an excellent Hulk. Of course Bruce is jealous.
After petty pushing She-Hulk off a cliff, Bruce thinks of another hidden Hulk skill to show Jen: the power to drink alcohol without getting tipsy.
Hulk tries to brag about this new ability to his cousin, but Walters doesn’t seem impressed.

USA Today also published a series of stills from the show, the first of which shows Bruce and Jennifer trying to enter a zen state:
Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters and Ginger Gonzaga’s Nikki Ramos have a fun chat at their apartment:
A fresh look at Jameela Jamil’s Titania was also revealed, with the character seemingly preparing for a courtroom hearing:
Creator and head writer Jessica Gao spoke to the publication about what She-Hulk’s internal struggle was like “is different than Bruce’s because hers is so much more internalized” Notice how others perceive Jen after the transformation:
“It’s really about her struggling with her identity and what it means to see people treating her differently than She-Hulk.”
Maslany also revealed that she donned a motion capture outfit similar to Ruffalo for her MCU role and shared what they were talking about “How bizarre this suit is:”
“He and I were talking about how bizarre this suit is. Nothing about you feels like a superhero, so there’s also an outsider feeling that’s the Hulk’s place in (the Avengers).”
That orphan black Alumnus then shared that she portrays Walters “disrespectful” Sense of humor when shooting action scenes, I’ll admit that “She doesn’t fight cool:”
“She-Hulk is not a trained fighter; Ultimately, she’s Jen in a giant body capable of snapping someone, and they fly through a wall. She doesn’t fight cool.”
Will She-Hulk Present Another Big MCU Reveal?
Based on the new clip, it seems so She-Hulk: Lawyer once again shows a weaker side of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. The fact that Jennifer Walters is characterizing herself as the new Hulk is another low point for Bruce Banner, but this could represent a more satisfying redemption for the character across the board.
She Hulk is Hulk’s second appearance in Phase 4 following Banner’s major presence in Shang Chi‘s post-credits scene. While it’s not yet known how Hulk fits into the overall Phase 4 puzzle, it’s possible that something big could happen to the original Avenger that could spell out his significant role in Phases 5 and 6.
A previous rumor revealed that a World War Hulk storyline was being staged for the MCU, which would see both Banner and Walters embark on a possible mission overseas. However, the rumored project recently received a disappointing update indicating that it won’t be releasing any time soon.
Despite it, She Hulk could bring back Bruce Banner’s former glory as the rampaging Hulk and set up another big reveal that could allow the character to evolve once more.
She-Hulk: Lawyer will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, August 17.
