Let’s start with news on the long-awaited celebrity wedding of actor Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Karthi, Sarath Kumar, Atlee, Vijay Sethupathi, Mani Ratnam and many others attended the ceremony. The couple married at an intimate event in Mahabalipuram with family and close friends. Originally, they wanted to get married in Tirupati Temple, but due to logistical problems, it didn’t happen. The filmmaker also revealed that their wedding will be a private affair, attended only by family members and close friends. Vignesh Shivan directed Nayanthara in 2015’s box office hit Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. They are said to have fallen in love during filming. They’ve been together ever since.
“Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer for its first long-form scripted original series in Tamil, Suzhal – The Vortex. Written and created by Vikram Vedha, the famous Pushkar and Gayatri, this 8-part investigative drama, starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhakrishnan Parthiban, Kathir and Sriya Reddy, centers on the disappearance of a young girl from a small town in Tamil Nadu.
Judging by the trailer, the series looks like an engrossing thriller with multiple twists and turns. An intricate web of lies, deception and suspicious characters promises to keep viewers guessing until the end. Suzhal: The Vortex will premiere on June 17th in languages including Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese and more.”
In other news, Kamal Haasan has thanked the Kannada audience for welcoming his latest release, Vikram, with open arms. Vikram, a pan-Indian film, opened on June 3rd and has already grossed Rs 175 crore worldwide. In a special video message to his fans in Karnataka, Kamal Haasan expressed his gratitude while also praising the film’s cast and crew. Vikram, who also stars Vijay Sethupathi, also snaps eyes for Suriya’s flashy cameo. The superstar plays the Rolex character, which is trending among fans on social media. Kamal gave a shoutout to Suriya and also stated that he will reunite with him in Vikram 3. Lokesh Kanagaraj is already heading towards a Vikram sequel, the third part of which is also in the pipeline.

American screenwriter C. Robert Cargill, best known for writing Benedict Cumberbatch on Doctor Strange, has called filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s RRR the ‘craziest’ blockbuster he’s seen. Released in March, RRR was met with a thunderous response at the box office. Many praised Rajamouli’s fantastic vision and grandiose performance of a story of two friends.
The film, which grossed more than Rs 1000cr at the global box office, has gained wider international recognition since its Netflix premiere in May. Cargill, whose other screenwriters include supernatural films like Sinister and The Black Phone, took to Twitter and wrote that he was happy to be part of the RRR “cult.”
“Well moving on to the new teaser shared by the creators of Dear Friend, the new video introduces Basil Joseph’s character. Judging by the teaser, it seems he’s the one person who is the life of the gang. He welds everyone together. He’s that fun personality who always puts a smile on your face, even in the darkest of situations.
Dear Friend is the story of a group of friends – played by Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Darshana Rajendran, Arjun Lal and Arjun Radhakrishnan – who got through it all together. Director Vineeth Kumar seems to have delved much deeper into the friendship relationship in the film. Dear Friend will be released on June 10th.

Nayanthara plays a character who seems to be a single mother of a child who fights for her life every day. The boy has an illness that does not allow him to breathe without respiratory assistance.
The situation becomes dire when people underground run out of fresh air. Thus begins the chaos as everyone turns into ruthless men as they fight over the boy’s oxygen tank. O2 is funded by Dream Warrior Pictures and will be released on Disney Plus Hotstar on June 17th in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.”
