“Let’s start today’s bulletin with news about superstar Kamal Haasan’s latest film, Vikram. The film continues to dominate the box office across the country. Within five days of its release, the film has grossed more than Rs 200 crore from its worldwide ticket sales.
According to Cinetrak, Vikram has raised more than Rs 82 crore in Tamil Nadu so far. If the film keeps the same momentum it could become the fastest Tamil film to gross Rs 100 crore in the state. After Tamil Nadu, Kerala has become the largest market for film. The film has grossed over Rs 20 crore making it the highest grossing non-Malayalam film in Kerala. ”
Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan and actor Nayanthara were married in Mahabalipuram in the presence of their family members and close friends. Her first photos as a groom and bride are finally here. Also attending their wedding were Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam, Suriya, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Sarathkumar, Shalini Ajithkumar, Kushboo, Anirudh Ravichander, KS Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Atlee, among others. Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara secretly got engaged last year. In a photo Vignesh shared on Instagram, Nayanthara could be seen displaying a ring. When asked about it during a talk show, the actress admitted that she does, in fact, wear an engagement ring.
Meanwhile, Kannada actor Shivarajkumar joins the cast of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie, tentatively titled Thalaivar 169. He confirmed the same to a publication, assuring fans they would love to see him and ‘Thalaivar’ on screen.
Shivarajkumar told Cinema Express, “It’s a great opportunity for everyone to work with Rajinikanth and I’m glad this project made it possible for me. He knows me from my childhood and I have a special bond with the older actor. Regardless of the role, I’m happy to be a part of this film. I’m sure fans will love to see Rajini Sir and I on screen together.”
“Moreover, on the eve of the actor’s birthday, the creators of NBK107 released a teaser of the main role of Nandamuri Balakrishna. Titled First Hunt, the video showcases Balakrishna’s larger-than-life character in all his glory. It also suggests that the film is loaded with plenty of action and bloodshed.
The teaser shows Balakrishna challenging the government. Balakrishna is projected as the savior of the oppressed. With heavy dialogue, the teaser is shortened to emphasize Balakrishna’s mass appeal. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, NBK107 marks the Tollywood debut of Kannada star Duniya Vijay. Shruti Haasan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar also star in the action thriller. ”
Actress Pooja Hegde took to Twitter on Thursday to slam Indigo Airlines for the “rude” behavior of an employee. In her tweet, Pooja called the Indigo 6E employee “arrogant” and “ignorant.”
She tweeted: “Very sad at how rude @IndiGo6E employee named Vipul Nakashe was towards us on our flight from Mumbai today. Absolutely arrogant, ignorant and threatening tone that we use for no reason.”
The Beast actor added that while she never tweets about such issues, her recent experience has been “truly appalling.” In a tweet, the airlines added: “Thank you for taking the time to speak to us Ms Hegde. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.””
American screenwriter C. Robert Cargill, best known for writing Benedict Cumberbatch on Doctor Strange, has called filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s RRR the ‘craziest’ blockbuster he’s seen. Released in March, RRR was met with a thunderous response at the box office. Many praised Rajamouli’s fantastic vision and grandiose performance of a story of two friends.
The film, which grossed more than Rs 1000cr at the global box office, has gained wider international recognition since its Netflix premiere in May.

Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer of its first long-form scripted original series in Tamil, Suzhal – The Vortex. Written and created by Vikram Vedha, the famous Pushkar and Gayatri, this 8-part investigative drama, starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhakrishnan Parthiban, Kathir and Sriya Reddy, centers on the disappearance of a young girl from a small town in Tamil Nadu.
Judging by the trailer, the series looks like an engrossing thriller with multiple twists and turns. An intricate web of lies, deception and suspicious characters promises to keep viewers guessing until the end. Suzhal: The Vortex premieres on June 17.”
“Eventually ‘Major’ topped the charts. Starring Adivi Sesh, the film continues to do well at the box office. The film is a biopic about the late Indian Army officer and NSG commander Sandeep Unnikrishnan and has grossed Rs 35.65 crore worldwide in three days.
Despite stiff competition from star-studded Vikram and Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj, Major is expected to do well in India in the coming days.
