Exeter City 4-0 Port Vale

Jevani Brown scored twice as Exeter produced a stylish performance to beat Port Vale 4-0 in their first League One home game in 10 years.

Harry Kite opened the scoring in the 24th minute – and the competition for goal of the season might as well end now.

The Exeter Academy graduate lined up after a loop and finished sweetly with a sensational first volley that flew into the far corner from 20 yards out.

In the 37th minute, Jack Sparkes did well to turn Sammy Robinson, who clipped his heels in the box for a penalty Brown scored by sending Adam Stone the wrong way from 12 yards out.

Robinson had a chance to make amends just before half-time but his hard shot was superbly saved by Exeter debutant Jamal Blackman in the Greece goal.

Sam Nombe should have made it 3-0 but he shot wide when he came through clean. However, he turned provider in the 72nd minute, crossing Brown to calmly put in his second period of play.

Nombe then added the fourth in the 75th minute, turning and finishing from close range after a long throw from Alex Hartridge and it could have been more as substitute Josh Coley missed two good chances.
