Probably the most exciting news we have regarding Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is the announcement that Oscar winners Emma Thompson has taken on the role of the film’s villain, Miss Trunchbull.
joins her Alisha Weir as Mathilde, Lashana Lynch as sweet miss honey, Stephen Graham as Mr. Wormwood, Andrea Riseborough as Mrs. Wormwood, and Sindhu Vee as Mrs. Phelps.
The film is directed by a Tony Award-winning director Matthew Warchuswho was behind Matilda The Musicalthe film is produced by Eric Fellner, Tim Bewan and Luke Kelly. Dennis Kelly is the film’s screenwriter and he provided the original music and lyrics Tim Minchin.
