Manchester United interim head coach Eric ten Hag confirmed that Anthony Martial will again not be available for selection in Saturday’s Premier League clash Brentford.
The France international was in strong form for the Red Devils last weekend and was in line for the team’s 2022-23 opener against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
However, the attacker was absent with a hamstring problem and Ten Hag said during Friday’s press conference that the former Monaco youngster would not be able to return against the Bees.
This was also revealed by the ManUnited head coach Victor Lindelf would stay on the touchline as the Sweden international would suffer a blow in training ahead of their Brighton clash.
“Martial will not be available this weekend and neither will Victor Lindelof,” Ten Hag told reporters.

The Red Devils will also be without again Facundo Pellistriwith the Uruguay international likely to be sidelined until at least early September due to an ankle problem.
Brandon Williams was also absent during the preseason due to an unknown issue Mason Greenwood remains suspended by 20-time English champions.
Cristiano Ronaldo Amid speculation about his future, he came on as a second-half substitute against Brighton last weekend and the Portugal international is now struggling to start against Brentford.
“So he had a good week of training. I thought he played a little over half an hour, he’s played two half games and for the starting XI we’ll see tomorrow. I’m keeping my decision (whether he starts),” said Ten Hag when asked about Ronaldo’s involvement.
The 37-year-old continues to be linked with a move from Man United as he is desperate to continue playing in the Champions League in the 2022-23 season.

Lisandro Martinez and Christian Ericsen both made their debuts for the Red Devils as starters against Brighton while also being newcomers Tyrell Malacia came from the bank in the last change.
Man United are now under pressure to recover against Brentford, who opened their 2022/23 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Leicester City last weekend.
“I know there’s always pressure, I have the experience of what it’s like, I know we have to win every game, I know the fans, I know everyone expects Manchester United to win every game, we have to deal with it I can prepare the team as much as possible this weekend,” added Ten Hag.
“Every game is tough. Really good (team), just like last week, Brighton, they have a team and a coach who’s been together a long time and has a good structure. We have to win.”
Man United will follow the trip to Brentford with clashes against Liverpool and Southampton before opening September with a trip to Leicester City.
