Anti-Glazer protesters plan their biggest statement yet as they urge all fans to boycott Manchester United’s next home game against Liverpool.
Dubbed “Empty Old Trafford,” the protest aims to turn the tide on the Glazer family, Manchester United’s unwelcome majority shareholders.

The American tycoons have been unpopular since their arrival, when they left a financially healthy club in excess of £600m in debt by buying it with borrowed money.
Since then they have drained fortunes from the club, poured money into their own bank accounts via massive dividends, let the once-proud stadium fall into disrepair, installed merchant bankers in place of football men in key positions at the club and meddled in football decisions.
One of those men, CEO Richard Arnold, recently admitted the protests were hurting the club’s finances and this week shirt sponsor TeamViewer announced it would not be renewing his contract with the club.
With stock prices under constant pressure, the protests and boycotts of sponsors and merchandising are beginning to take their toll.
The family are clearly struggling as the backlash mounts and have worked with supporter group MUST to launch a fan share scheme to try to appease angry supporters.
However, this has been criticized as a symbolic gesture that would give fan-investors no hope of ever achieving a meaningful stake in ownership.
So it’s agreed then?
Nobody goes in for the Liverpool game.

If Old Trafford sits empty for the biggest game of the season against Liverpool, it will be a massive feather in the protesters’ caps.
It will be very difficult logistically to pull this off as there are so many people who are desperate to see United play but don’t understand the purpose of the protests.
But with an earlier protest at the relevant game in May 2021 resulting in the game being abandoned, there is every reason to be confident that this new effort will be more than effective.
The Peoples Person encourages all fans to support the protests peacefully and to continue boycotting sponsors, MUTV, official club merchandise and anything that puts money in the pockets of the Glazer family.
