When Diablo immortal Streamer Quin69 told viewers that the road to $20,000 started last week during one of his streams, few could have guessed it would ever reach the end. After all, the odds, for which he had already spent more than NZ$10,000 Diablo immortal without getting a single 5/5-star Legendary Gem already seemed unlikely enough. Unfortunately, the streamer’s luck hasn’t improved a bit since then.
Eight days and countless Rifts later, Quin69 has now hit another unlikely milestone, with its most recent stream taking its total spend well past the NZ$20,000 mark. Unfortunately for him, because of the way that Diablo immortal‘s controversial pity system is working, he’s still no closer to one of the elusive 5/5-star legendary gems than when he started his issues.
In just a few weeks, Quin69 has spent a whopping NZ$20,915.82 without receiving a single Legendary 5/5 Star Gem. Given that the optimal physique would require six such gems, he still has an awfully long way to go to achieve perfection. In fact, it now looks like YouTube channel Bellular News’ claims that it could cost around $110,000 to fully gear up have been dispelled Diablo immortal may actually have been a massive underestimate on their part.
Of course, it would be somewhat inaccurate to say that Quin69 gained nothing from the experience. For one, the streamer has garnered thousands of new followers on his social media since rising to fame, which has no doubt helped fund his expensive new addiction. He also has a nice OP setup Diablo immortalas evidenced by his daily forays into the game’s PvP.
NZ$20,000 might not be enough to guarantee a 5/5 Star Legendary Gem, but it can still buy some pretty decent gear. As a result, Quin69 is regularly posting double-digit killstreaks Diablo immortal‘s PvP, however, this is perhaps to be expected given how much he’s spent on the game and its pay-to-win nature. His viewers are always quick to remind him of this, with comments like “well paid” and “good pay” when he’s bragging about his accomplishments.
Some have even gone so far as to brand Quin69 as part of the problem, arguing that his reckless spending may encourage impressionable viewers to gamble with money they can’t afford to lose, while also serving as a justification for those behind the Aggressive monetization of the game. Others have raised concerns about the streamer’s mental health, not just because of the tens of thousands of dollars he’s now wasted Diablo immortal but also to the anger he often shows when things in the game don’t go the way he wants.
