The second official trailer for the action-adventure drama Gran Turismo came out, starring David Harbor as a dedicated and tough race car trainer.
In the preview, viewers meet Jann Mardenborough played by Archie Madekwe, a struggling gamer who dreams of turning his passion for racing video games into real life glory. “All I ever wanted to do was be a racer,” Mardenborough ardently declares, fueling his determination to conquer the racing world. Harbor portrays Jack Salter, a former racing driver who challenges motorsport director Danny Moore (Orlando Bloom) on the caliber of the current generation of racers, remarking, “The guys who race are elite athletes; your kids are skinny little players.” Moore, undeterred, responds with a glimmer of hope, “That’s where you come in.”
The trailer reveals that Salter trains young untrained riders intensely and strictly. He warns them directly of the exhaustion and injuries they will face while striving to become professional runners. In the climactic scene, Harbor can be seen motivating a visibly hurt Madekwe, saying, “You ran it like what, like a thousand times; now you just gotta do it in real life.”

What is the movie Gran Turismo about?
Gran Turismo, based on a true story, centers on the life of a teenage Gran Turismo video game player, whose remarkable gaming skills propel him to success. Winning a series of Nissan competitions, Mardenborough’s gaming prowess propelled him into the world of real professional motor racing, turning his dreams into reality.
Madekwe recently opened up about his experience working on a racing film without any background. He quickly found out: “You realize very quickly whether you’re built right to be a racing driver or not, and I’m not,” said the Midsommar actor. He had to “open the car door and vomit all over the place” between takes. Additionally, he revealed, “I had to pass my test in two and a half weeks to get my role in the movie.”
Harbour, one of the few actors to star in both Marvel and DC films, recently made a remarkable debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the blockbuster of 2021 Black Widow, which made $379 million, he played Russian super-soldier Alexei Shostakov, also known as Red Guardian. Notably, DC Studios revealed that Harbor will star as Eric Frankenstein in DCU’s upcoming project. Commando Creatures.
Neill Blomkamp, known for the highly acclaimed sci-fi film District 9directed Gran Turismo from a script of Jason Hall (American sniper) and Zach Baylin (King Richard). The film is set to be released on August 11.
